Alya has always felt different. Mocked for how she looks and branded a freak for her strange abilities, she's learned to live as an outcast.
When a surge of unexplainable power rips through her classroom and a mysterious boy named Jayden appears in her life, the strange abilities she's spent years hiding become the key to a realm beyond her imagination.
He's protective, kind, and infuriatingly charming, but there's something about him that doesn't quite add up... something almost as strange as she is.
Driven by Jayden's push and the pull of her own unanswered questions, Alya sets out to find the mother she thought had abandoned her and discovers a whole hidden world with people like her, and a family who's been waiting for her.
But her arrival awakens an ancient darkness. A Rot that has waited a thousand years for the extraordinary power within her.
To protect the family she has just found and save all life under the moon, Alya must journey alongside a blunt, ice-gliding elf and her cousins to master her powers, before the darkness finds her.
Before the Sunset is Book One of the Children of the Tide series: a fantasy tale of love, loss, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace who you truly are... against all odds.
