Insecurities Arc:
After confessing her feelings to her best friend, Shiori, Hikari is brutally rejected—and things only get worse when Shiori spreads the confession to the entire school. Humiliated and broken, Hikari is sent home early that day. Worried about her, a teacher asks a new transfer student, Leona, to check on her. Leona has just arrived from a Romanian school for reasons no one quite understands.
When Leona and a few classmates visit Hikari’s house, she ends up breaking in, lockpicking the door to reach her. Inside, she finds Hikari in a terrible state. After hearing what happened with Shiori, Leona unexpectedly takes Hikari’s side and forces Shiori to apologize.
