The sound of a machine dispensing could be heard as Kimura took out a can of orange soda from a vending machine near the middle of the academy. The academy building took a box-like appearance as the middle of the academy is hollow, allowing a tower-like building with four bridges to be placed in. The middle of the academy is widely known as “The Garden” as it was quite peaceful despite all the destruction within Haven Academy.

Kimura took out the soda and cracked it open almost immediately, taking a single gulp as he sighed calmly once again. Finally…a refreshing drink… He looked at the can with a smile, staring at the branding of the can, Fantei. He sighed briefly, looking up at the moving clouds.

Literally the next day and I’m already cleaning up other people’s messes…

It’s not like I wanted to do it…or maybe I did…Huh…I’m not entirely sure…

While he was lost in his thoughts, the girl from before came walking over, holding a neatly wrapped item.

“H-Hey…!”

The soft toned voice called out as Kimura turned his head to look over, seeing her standing nearby. “C-Can I…?” She pointed at the seat beside him, he scooted over gently and fixed his uniform.

“T-Thank You.”

She stuttered with a smile, sitting down as she opened her neatly wrapped box, revealing a bento box within. She smiles as she clasps her hands together, saying “Thank you! Time to eat!” happily.

The girl dug into her bento box, eating it slowly and savoring the flavor that was boxed within her meal. However, Kimura couldn’t help himself but glance over at it a couple times, the scent was overpoweringly sweet and savory.

Gruuuuummmbllleee…

“…”

“Haha. If you wanted some you should have asked.” She spoke a bit more confidently towards Kimura.

“I-I’m okay really, I don’t want to intru-”

However, it was too late for Kimura, the girl already pulled out a fork and into her mini hot dog, offering one to him.

“Here, just have one alright?”

“No really, I’m fine, it’s your meal box.”

“Quit being a baby and just take my offer.”

“Fine! Fine, just because it’s an offer.”

After the peer pressure from the girl, he took the fork from her hands and quickly ate the mini hot dog from it. Kimura quickly passed the fork back to her as he chewed on it, crossing his arms reluctantly. She giggled at Kimura covering her mouth a little bit to cover her amused laugh.

“You’re more of a dork when you’re not fighting someone.”

“Is…that a compliment?” He questioned her.

“Yeah, it is, I already seen you take down the counter and three others.”

“Oh, well thanks, I guess. How come you didn’t fight back when you were out there?”

“About that…” She looked down.

“It puts a strain on my body if I use my ability, but you seem to use yours perfectly.”

“No one’s perfect.” Kimura shot back quickly, drinking his soda.

“I-I see…Well I didn’t get your name earlier.” She asked him.

“Oh. It’s Kimura, Kimura Makoto.”

“Oh! Your parents also named you using the old-world naming too?” She seemed ecstatic.

“I-I guess?? I’ve never heard about this naming thing before.”

“Not a lot of parents use the naming practice anymore, since we use the new one now.”

“I guess so. But what’s your name?”

“Asuka, Saki Asuka.”

Kimura took a second to indulge in the information as he looked at her again, this time getting a better look than before. Asuka had peachy skin with long eyelashes, her eyes glimmered a blue sapphire color as she had short brown hair that reached just past her shoulders.

“You have pretty blue eyes.” Kimura boldly commented.

“H-Huh?!?”

Asuka flustered up so suddenly as she closed her bento box. Looking down at the top of the bento box, letting her hair cover his view of her eyes.

“Hey, are you okay?”

Kimura leaned to try and see if she was alright, however he was too close up to her face as Asuka flicked her body back a bit to gain some distance.

“I-I’m fine! G-good day K-Kimura!”

“Hey wait!”

She stuttered as she quickly got up and ran off as fast as the wind. Kimura looked at her left with a confused look, not knowing about her personal space. “I just wanted to know if she wanted to finish her bento box.” Kimura muttered to himself as he got up moments late and tossed his can into the recycle bin, leaving the garden and back into the halls of the academy.

While Kimura sat in his desk at his homeroom class, he then realized something off about Asuka. The school uniform she wore was significantly different color wise but looked very similar overall.

Her Uniform Jacket is a little shorter than ours…the colors slightly different as it’s a deeper teal…Obviously she’s not from here but why is she here?...

It circulated in his head before his train of thought was cut off, he looked over his shoulder to see a girl about 5’5, red hair tied into a ponytail as she had silver white eyes. Both just stared at each other for a second before the red-haired girl broke the silence.

“Kimura corrects? The one who just transferred yesterday?”

“…Yes, who’s asking…?”

“I’d like to discuss this in private if you would.” She spoke in a more serious tone.

“Fine…”

Kimura got up as he towered over the girl, standing around 5’8. However, the red-haired girl led the way anyways, Kimura followed behind her as they walked out of his homeroom classroom and heads right towards the back of the academy.

“What’s your name?”

“Pardon?”

“What’s your name, I don’t just follow strangers without getting to know them.”

“It’s Wei-Hu, Wei-Hu Valrin.”

“So, you’re from the Eastern Archipelago?”

“Originally…yes.”

“Hm…”

“What?”

“Nothing, just wondering to myself.”

“Well, we’re almost there.”

Wei-Hu and Kimura shortly arrived as Kimura stopped at the front door, looking up at the sign as it read “Student Administration Office”. Kimura didn’t think he’d have to go to the administration office so early, walking in as he kept his head high.

“So, this is the guy who took out the counter without a sweat?”

“Huh, the tip of his hair has purple hues, are those dyed or natural?”

“Who cares about his hair, why does he have a patch over his left eye?”

“You all, just calm down alright, I got him here.”

When Kimura entered there were four other students standing around, seemingly waiting for their arrival. There were two guys and two girls, three if you include Wei-Hu. However, Kimura spotted one girl who was awfully familiar to him.

Not far away was a girl lying on the couch with a soaked towel on her forehead as she took it off to look. To everyone’s surprise except Kimura, she jumped a bit as she hid behind the sofa.

“Why we meet again Kumiko.” Kimura commented looking at her general direction.

“WHY IS HE HERE?!” Kumiko shouted.

“Hey! Get back on the couch and rest! We’ll discuss why he’s here.”

“NO! NOT WHILE HE’S HERE!!!”

“Jesus you really did strike fear into the counter.”

While everyone was talking between themselves, a thump was heard as everyone stopped talking. The sound of a can being put down on a table stopped everyone in their tracks. The person who put the can down looked over at Kimura as he had white hair with golden yellow eyes.

“Sorry that the tension in the room is high right now Kimura, we never intended to do this until we heard about Kumiko’s allegations.”

“Alright, what did she say??”

“Well, we can’t start the conversation without introducing ourselves.” He laughed a bit, seemingly humble towards Kimura.

“My name is Karvos Xandria (Car-vo-s, Zan-dri-ah), The Monarch of Haven Academy.”

“So, you’re the Monarch. You seem more laid back than I imagined.” Kimura Commented.

“I’m flattered Kimura.” He laughed softly.

“The one right next to me is Suharu Reima, she is the Princess of the hierarchy.”

“I hate that title so much…” Suharu commented with her arms crossed.

“Underneath her is the Knight, Erudis Harvick.”

“Yo.” Erudis waved at Kimura with an expressionless look.

“And you already met Kumiko.”

“Get him out of here please!” she commented from the behind the sofa.

“Then there’s Wei-Hu, Kumiko’s replacement.”

“Replacement?” Kumiko and Wei-Hu commented at the same time.

“Yes, replacement.” Karvos said without hesitation again.

“B-But…” Kumiko was flabbergasted stuttering over her own words.

Meanwhile Kimura took this time to analyze his competition, first looking at the monarch himself, Karvos. Karvos stood about 6ft in height, his white hair and golden eyes make him stand out as well as his wide build, Kimura could tell he’s the monarch for a reason.

Kimura looked over at Suharu as he sees that shes standing about 5’6, a little taller than Wei-Hu, as her sapphire blue eyes and dirty blonde hair makes her a crowd favorite for other students. However, she seems more serious about her role than the monarch or the other ones.

Looking over at Erudis, He was leaning against the wall, so Kimura had to make a guess around 5ft and 7-ish inches, thinking he’s the same height as himself. Kimura noticed the scar on his left cheek, seeing it’s in a spark-like pattern like lightning. Kimura looked from his scar to see his gray eyes and brown hair.

“Hey Erudis.”

“What’s up?” Erudis replied looking over at Kimura.

“What happened to your left cheek? That’s a nasty scar you got there.”

“Oh this?” Erudis commented, touching his own scar. “This was from a middle grounds tournament, it’s nothing now.”

“Oh.”

Kimura then turned his attention to Karvos and Kumiko as Karvos was towering over her with his arms crossed as he was explaining to her about something that Kimura couldn’t make out. Wei-Hu walked over to Karvos and Kumiko as she tried to negotiate as well, Kimura decided that it wasn’t something for him to do.

“So, why’d you call me over here?” Kimura questioned Suharu.

“Originally, we called you over to prove Kumiko’s allegations that led her to a broken nose, a student with unimaginable strength that took out our counter with a single blow.”

“But how did Kumiko know it was me?” He questioned.

“The School’s Administration allows us to keep copied documents of students in our room, however it’s against school rules for students that aren’t part of the hierarchy to go digging into the archives.”

“So, am I going to trial or something?” Kimura joked.

“Haha, very funny.” She half-heartedly replied with a serious tone, “No, we’re just going to get your side of the story of what happened.”

Kimura sighs, getting himself into more and more trouble as time goes on. Eventually things do calm down for the better, Kimura gives his statement and eyewitness testimony to Karvos and the others.

“I saw someone being bullied and went outside to help under the ruse that I was going to the bathroom, when I got there, I saw Kumiko bullying Asuka-”

“Wait, the girl’s name is Asuka?” Suharu cut halfway through his explanation.

“Yes? Why?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.

“What is a Kyoushou Student doing all the way out here?”

“Kyoushou? Like the Gang Academy…?” Kimura thought.

However, their trial was cut short by a student urgently knocking by slamming their fist against the door. Wei-Hu rushed over to open it as a beaten-up student stumbled to their knees in pain.

“What happened?!?”

“K-Kyoushou…T-They’re at the front…”

“Shit…I forgot it was today.” Karvos regretfully said as he got up.

“Forgot what?!?” Kimura shouted.

“Let’s go you two.” Karvos said as Suharu and Erudis got up as well.

“Got it.”

Karvos, Suharu and Erudis then exited the room, running towards the nearest exit.

Wei-Hu, Kumiko and Kimura were left with the beaten-up student, tending his injuries. Wei-Hu was applying her medical knowledge onto the student’s open wounds, stitching them back up as she kept reassuring the student.

“Everything will be okay if you stop moving around.”

“It hurts! God!”

“Hey bitch! Shut up and stop moving when we’re trying to help!” Kumiko shouted.

“Almost done.” Wei-Hu confidently reassured him.

Kimura watched as he looked through the glass seeing the students heading over towards the front, Kimura wasted no time in acting as he ran up the stairs to the rooftop. Once he reached the rooftop, he walked towards the chain link fence and got a better view of what was occurring in front of the academy.
