Peregrine considered himself a wannabe author. He wrote a few books, but they never amounted to anything remotely successful. Over the years he found himself growing dismayed by the lack of creativity in the world. Then a new idea for a story came to him that reinvigorated his excitement for writing. He was ready to put pen to paper when—of course—he died.

He reemerges in a place called the Irenic Realm, greeted by a being known as The Morrigan. She reveals that the realm is meant to be a higher plane of existence filled with peace and fulfillment, but that her sister has brought forth death and chaos by unleashing supernatural creatures across the land.

The Irenic Realm isn’t filled with fighters, and The Morrigan lacks the strength to defeat her sister. She grants Peregrine the power to bring serenity back to the land by assigning him Creative Class.

Armed with a new class, party members ... and a writing quill fashioned to his wrist that requires ink to cast magic spells, he sets forth on his adventure. But Peregrine sure as hell doesn’t want to fight to the death against supernatural creatures for a being, and a world, that he didn't volunteer to save. 

Will Peregrine choose to do The Morrigan’s bidding and risk his soul to save the inhabitants of the Irenic Realm from slaughter? Or, will he watch them die and find his way back home?
