Chapter 1 - Unlucky Tong

Since the beginning of his birth, fate hasn't been least merciful to Tong. The fact that he was not only ugly but also cripple left his family with no choice but to abandon him.

Even though

the parents of his were kind human beings in the eyes of others, they were far from being in the same class as compassionate people. Coming from a sizeable influential family, they couldn't bear to show such an ugly kid to the public as their son. As the reputation came before kinship, they left him on the desolate alley lane, located on a stinking slum.

They left him there with a board which said: 'Song Tong' (Give away child in Chinese).

After leaving him there, the two walked a few yards back. The two - mother and father couldn't bear to turn around, so they kept on walking, while keeping their heads low.

The women had a hint of tear on the corner of her eyes, while the man didn't have any expression on his face whatsoever.

"Sorry my child, we have no other choice but to do this. We don't want to disgrace our name and more importantly the clan's name." A heart-breaking cry came from the woman as she struggled not to turn back.

Just after saying that, the woman started to sob and fled from the scene, while the man sighed and left, without turning back or saying anything.

“Wahhh”

After being left alone, the fragile child started crying from hunger. However, no one came to his rescue, not even the pedestrian passing by.

After a few more hours, the child seemed to have nearly lost its voice as it no longer could be heard crying.

However, as the cold, damp night started to flash, while carring the rain drops with it, the child cried once again.

"Ah, goddamn please let me enjoy the little time I have left in this world," A sound came from the edge of the lane as the rain poured even more fiercly.

Hearing the sound, the child opened its eyes weakly, and a very sharp cry filled the alley.

"Cough. Why is it always me?"

A robust man could be seen, closing in towards the child. His manly voice which contained tingle of sympathy once again resounded as he saw the baby's condition. "Seeing as you are now, you are in more of the pathetic situation than me. I guess I can let you take out your grief".

When the man thought the child would still keep on crying, it looked at the robust man and stopped crying. Perhaps, It was due to fear, or it was because of delights.

"Ah! Now you stop crying when I let you,” Seeing that the child stopped crying, the man slapped his forehead and sighed.

"Sigh. Guess I will take you home. Damn, why am I so soft-hearted? I see why people call me soft tiger!”

....

FIVE YEARS LATER:

"GO AWAY, YOU UGLY FREAK!" A sharp voice traveled across the playground as several kids shoved a cripple kid to the mud. As this voice fell into the cripple child's ear, he started to cry as loud as he possibly could.

....

TEN YEARS LATER:

"Oh, are you the ugly child that everyone talks about; you are even uglier then I could imagine" a playful voice drifted through the air as a child younger than ten could be seen crying. However, no one stood to help him.

.....

As the years passed, Tong got bullied, assaulted more often. Until:

TWENTY YEARS LATER:

Qin province. Loaf town.

"Did you hear the news? That Zin Yun died yesterday."

"He was ambushed by two men from unknown origin while going towards the rigid mountain."

The crowd was busting with noises after one of the individual touched upon a severe topic.

While the market was busting with noises after mentioning the gangster, a demonic-like creature slowly broke through the shades of light and crept over to the crowds’ view.

"Guys, shush. That ugly of a bastard is coming this way.“ A cold voice echoed across the market as the demonic-creature came closer.

As soon as the crowd heard that nasty voice, all eyes lined and gathered around the ‘unlucky’ bastard.

"I heard it was because of him Zin Yun died."

Some people started to mutter under their breath as the figure came into everyone's view.

The demonic creature was suddenly under their gaze. Even the oblivious pedestrians’ sight started to direct towards the figure. However, their eyes soon turned away due to fear.

It was due to his looks. His looks could be classified as extreme ugliness. After a single observation, they knew he was crippled to the extreme. However, the people who were familiar with him didn’t give a soft look. Instead, they looked at him with disgust and uneasiness.

But it didn't seem the demonic figure gave any sh×t about what they thought.

The figure's name was Song Tong.

Currently, his eyes were nearly as dead as a flickering candle as he knew that this would be the last day he would get to live. Although this was the case, he wasn't dejected, but instead quite glad that he can finally leave this terrifying place. His eyes were losing their light because of the dreadful news he got recently. His uncle... was dead.

For people who had a normal life, death was a terror, but to him- It was the most pleasant thing that could happen. Even though his parents left him to die, he didn't detest them, neither did he have any good feeling for them. The only one he cared for was his uncle; the uncle who adopted him when the world left him to die.

His uncle "Zin Yun" was the only one that cared for him. Even though Dan was crippled and ugly, his adopted uncle never left his side for a single second.

And before Dan could repay his adopted uncle, something unfortunate happened.

His uncle was murdered.

"When are those assassins going to end my life? They already killed my uncle… Only if I had the power to overturn my fate, I would have destroyed the group that attacked my uncle, and most importantly, of I weren't crippled and ugly, I would have been able to live my life to the fullest.” Dan sighed as he recalled his past.

Thinking about the past, where he got bullied by the people around him, he couldn't help but tear up a little. He had a disability so he couldn't stand up for himself. Even though he tried to retaliate several times, there was no good outcome; he used to be beaten no matter what tricks he pulled off.

The city was made up of rotten people. Even the poor were eviler than a murderer, let alone the rich. His uncle had offended the central branch family of Song Clan, so the death was inevitable. Although it was certain, his uncle struggled to overcome it. Finally, after suffering for countless years, he got killed in a single, lonely night,

Recalling his uncle’s death, Dan closed his eyes while the tears dripped down to wet the hard ground.

“I should probably go.”

Looking around, he only saw the detestable faces of the crowd, so he dragged himself in his wheelchair to an old, battered house.

After the house finally came before his eyes, he smiled a little from the corner of his eyes. Remembering the time his uncle and he spent together in this rundown place, a nostalgic expression formed on his face.

Those memories were the only reason he appreciated living in this gruesome and ugly world. However, as the smile was still on his face, a small dagger pierced through the back of his head- killing him on the spot.

Face frozen, Dan said to himself

"Well, I guess I will be gone now."
