I'm scheduled!
I'll be having the tube pulled from my spine and the shattered valve removed from my hip this Thursday! Two days from now. 😂
Best case: The hole will seal up within a week and my brain will begin to recover, I'll be able to resume normal life with regular upright activity.
Cautious Expectation: If the hole in my spine doesn't successfully close within 3 months, they'll remove part of a vertebra and put a stitch into the dura that surrounds my spinal column. Eventually I'll be able to resume upright activity and heal.
Worst case (less than 3% chance): My brain will be infected and I might die, or I'll be paralyzed from the waist down by the tube shattering in my spine and damaging the nerves around it.
Possible (probable?) side effects: After the CSF leak stops, my pressure may increase dangerously and my VP shunt may need to be set to a lower drain level since we kept messing with it's settings trying to stabilize me last year.
I'll resume writing, and unpause my page and Patreon fees, when I've begun to heal. Hopefully I've got enough chapters of this saved up to cover my healing time, I ran out and put Cinderella's Spaceship on hiatus last week. 💚🍀
