Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Dave was concentrating, and the particles he was absorbing seemed to be slightly increasing in number, and the speed they entered his body also slowly increased. Also, his healing rate increased somewhat.

"Not bad... Both at the same time."

Stated Doni; however, Dave was so focused that he didn't hear what he said. Dave was focused for over an hour. By that time, he was fully healed.

"This is boring as hell!"

Stated Dave as he stood up and slightly stretched; however, he suddenly stopped because he started hearing some sort of noise. Dave quickly grabbed the sword he had looted from the backpack and stood up. As he stood up, he grabbed the sword with both of his hands and was ready to engage should he need to. As he was staring at the passage, he soon noticed some sort of movement from there, and he could see another spider. The spider was holding some sort of leaves in its mouth. It was probably the one Dave was focused more on, as it had slightly burned skin and a new, strange mark. The mark was not inflicted by Dave as it was a cross on its head.

"So you came back for another round?!"

The spider stopped and looked at Dave. The spider tilted its head to one side, then to the other and then put the leaves down. The spider bought about six larger pieces of leaves and, once it placed them down, looked back at Dave. He looked back at the spider, but he was confused. The spider slightly lowered its head but was still looking at Dave.

"What the hell are you doing? You must be trying to trick me and attack me! I don't trust you!"

Stated Dave as he pointed his sword at the spider, and it further lowered its head and slightly retreated.

"S...on...wn...I...so...fo...di...u"

"What the hell?! Is it some sort of language they use? Also, why does it sound like..."

"Is...hu...la...ne...ti...ev"

"Look, I can't understand what you are saying, but even if I did, I wouldn't trust you! You tried to kill me! It seems you are currently not hostile, but who knows; maybe your friends are just waiting for me to make a sudden movement, and they will attack me... Fuck,I don't even know wheater you can understand what I am saying... "

"Ca...un...u...s...on...w"

"Alright... Let's test it the easiest way... raise two of your legs if you understand what I am saying!"

Said Dave, and the spider tilted its head once again.

"Figured you wouldn't be..."

Suddenly the spider raised its front two legs and looked at Dave as it kept them up.

"What the?"

Asked Dave as he took a step back just in case; however, he was still holding the sword and was still pointing it at the spider. The spider put its legs down, then tilted its head again and kept on staring at Dave.

"I don't care what you want and why you decided to be peaceful, but I want you to leave me alone! I don't trust you!"

Stated Dave, and he pointed his blade towards the passage.

"I don't know whether I would be strong enough to defeat it judging by the previous fight, so if it is reasonable, at least I can avoid unnecessary action and trouble."

Though Dave as he moved his blade and pointed at the spider once again, who nodded then walked away. The spider walked slowly, but Dave kept pointing his blade at it and kept staring at it. After the spider was finally gone, Dave waited a few minutes, then sat back down and placed the sword next to him.

"I guess I should go back to this meditation thingy."

Dave closed his eyes once again and started concentrating. After about a minute, the reddish and goldish particles appeared again, and just like before, they were absorbed by Dave. Dave kept concentrating for about another hour; however, after that, he opened his eyes and looked around.

"It seems clear... I hope it stays taht way... I should get some sleep; I am getting quite tired."

Dave pulled the backpack closer to him and used it as a pillow and closed his eyes, and tried to fall asleep. Although he was tired before he could have fallen asleep, he opened his eyes a few times and surveyed the room. And soon, he fell asleep.
