After about an hour of meditation, Dave opened his eyes and spoke up.
"I don't care if it is poison; I am very thirsty!"
Dave grabbed the closest container and drank the water from it, then instantly chugged the second one down as well. He then placed the white containers back onto the ground.
"I don't know who did it, but if it really was water, then thank you!"
Said Dave and then closed his eyes and continued meditating. However, within a few minutes, the ground started shaking, and he quickly opened his eyes. The entire room was shaking, and he quickly looked around.
"What is going on?!"
Asked Dave, but he didn't see anything or anyone other than the usual items. HE stood up and started walking towards his backpack while the ground was shaking, so after the first step, he fell. Before he could have stood up, the shaking increased, the ceiling started cracking, and a piece of stone hit him on the head. The impact was so strong that Dave's head cracked, and he instantly lost consciousness.
"It seems you were quite unlucky."
Stated a voice in Dave's head, and as he opened his eyes, he was in a white room. In front of him stood his exact copy.
"Doni?"
Asked Dave as he looked at the figure in front of him, who then nodded.
"Dave... I have to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"I want you two to explore that passage! I think it could hide some interesting creatures!"
"So you want me to risk my life to find you some INTERESTING monsters? Why would I want to do that?! You want me to die or what?"
"Do you really think I want you to die? I hope you really that if you die, I die too! My intention is that you could get stronger if you fight. You can't really improve as much if you just swing your sword! The same applies to magic as well!"
"You could see that previously two spiders were almost enough to defeat me! Do you think that I would be able to handle anything more powerful than them? Even if I got stronger than I was previously, I might be able to kill one spider."
"Dave, you are so fucking lazy. Have you ever heard the term: "no pain, no gain"?! Without experience, of course, you are weak; you have to learn how to fight, how to use your weaknesses, how to exploit your strength, how to endure pain!"
"But..."
"WAKE UP ALREADY AND GET SERIOUS!"
Shouted Doni, and Dave suddenly woke up; he was on the ground, and the ground around him was covered with his dry blood. His injury was already healed, but still, he gently moved his hand over to his head where he was hit and touched it.
"Get serious, huh? Fine, I will go into that fucking passage and explore it. But if I die, don't blame me for that! Tomorrow when I wake up, that will be the first thing on my to-do list."
Said Dave as he slowly sat up and looked around. The area seemed to be slightly damaged; many cracks appeared both on the walls, ground and ceiling. And some smaller and larger pieces of stone fell from the damaged roof.
"What could have caused this? I hope it is not a monster residing in the cave."
Said dave as he slowly stood up, and then he walked back to his backpack. Then he sat down and started eating.
"Now that I think about it, how am I supposed to see in the darkness? I have nothing that I could use as a source of light; I don't even know how this room is being lighted up."
Said Dave as he ate the last portion of his food and then continued.
"And this was all of my remaining food, and I am still hungry... I could have used it more efficiently. Maybe the strange leaves brought by that spider are edible?"
Dave grabbed one of the leaves and examined it.
"I don't know what it is, as it seems to have been torn from a much larger piece. One thing for sure, this is a plant that exists only in this world, or at least not in my world."
Dave then tore a tiny piece off and ate it.
"Hm... it's strangely sweet. If I have great healing powers, then I must be able to recover if it is poisonous, so I don't care!"
Dave looked back at the leaf he was holding in his hand and then started rearing smaller pieces off and started eating them. After he finished eating that single piece of leaf, he was full. He walked over to his shirt and put it on.
"I don't know how long I have been up for, but I think I had enough for today. I am going to sleep and explore the cave a bit."
Dave walked back to his backpack and laid down, and after a few minutes, he fell asleep; however, soon, the cave started shaking once again, but this time it was not as intense as it was previously, and Dave didn't wake up to it.
