Chapter 57 - The Devil’s Mercy

The door to Lu Rong’s office was violently thrust open. Adisorn strode inside with absolute arrogance, causing Lu Rong who was sitting with his legs crossed behind his grand desk to flinch slightly. The CFO snapped his head up, glaring at the intruder who had unceremoniously breached his privacy without a shred of etiquette.

"Mr. Mark Rim... I was under the impression that ZX Capital educated you far better regarding basic manners," Lu Rong sneered, his voice dripping with condescension. "Or is this uncultured behavior... actually your true nature?"

Adisorn displayed a slow, provocative smile, holding his gaze defiantly. "I’d like to call it my straightforward nature, sir. I happen to be the type who acts exactly as he thinks." He came to a halt right in front of Lu Rong’s desk.

"Do you have business with me? Or has your task force encountered yet another roadblock?" Lu Rong offered a mocking smirk, thoroughly satisfied with his own sabotage.

"Working under your rigid regulations has been exceptionally smooth, Chief... until we accidentally stumbled upon something rather fascinating."

Thud.

Adisorn dropped a thick dossier onto the desk directly before the CFO. It revealed an analytical executive summary of financial irregularities linking directly to Feiyuan Asset complete with the undeniable signatures of President Zhou Miling.

"I am here to warn you about a highly suspicious matter concerning KCC’s financial documents, which carries an immense, non-compliance risk."

Lu Rong’s face tightened slightly, his smugness faltering. "I have no idea what that documentation implies."

"Special Activity Project Advisory Fees authorized by a single, solitary individual for over five consecutive years," Adisorn initiated with a cunning grin. He pressed his slender finger firmly against the page, heavily tapping the exact spot of the approval signature. "And the lone authorizer who signed off on every single invoice is none other than... President Zhou Miling, your own daughter."

The color completely drained from Lu Rong’s face. He stared fixedly at the signature before snapping his eyes up to meet Adisorn's deadpan gaze.

"What is the meaning of this?..." Lu Rong’s voice trembled, the pride that once fueled his eyes instantly shattering into raw panic. "Are you implying... that Miling embezzled funds?"

"Do you think... I should place this exact audit report onto Chairman Li Ming’s desk tomorrow morning?" Adisorn inquired. He parted his lips into a chilling, tranquil smile resembling a grim reaper poised to drag his listener’s soul straight into the abyss.

"As a father... you ought to know best that your daughter engaging in such a catastrophic liability won't just end with an internal embezzlement probe. Your very seat as the Group CFO will be dragged into the wreckage along with her."

Adisorn’s cold smile widened, his gaze unyielding. "But I didn't come here to blackmail you, nor am I interested in destroying your life, sir."

He straightened his posture, casting a piercing gaze downward at Lu Rong, like a lion observing a cornered prey. "Your little delay-tactics game ends now. I want full, unthrottled access to the digital database and every single document you ordered suppressed...

within the next two hours.

"

Lu Rong sat paralyzed, feeling as though his heart had been violently ripped from his chest and exposed to the elements.

"And for the sake of your own survival... I suggest you calculate your next move very carefully. Will you sink along with VCC, or will you jump ship to the side that holds the ultimate leverage ZX Capital?" Adisorn whispered in a deep, commanding baritone. "We have less than two weeks left before the merger deadline. If my operation stumbles because of you again... this little secret goes straight to the Chairman's ears immediately." He offered a dangerously sly glance.

"You can deduce the outcome for yourself. If that day arrives, where exactly do you think the paths of your life and your daughter's will terminate?" Adisorn leaned forward, locking his eyes into Lu Rong’s soul. "...In hell."

He flashed a smile that mirrored a demon masked in a gentleman's visage before straightening back up.

"Good day." Adisorn offered a sharp, calculated nod of farewell, turning and striding out of the office without casting a single glance backward.

Lu Rong clenched his jaw so hard his teeth ground together. He stared widely at the closed door. The monster known as A.P. Mark Rim had officially seized total dominion over his and Miling's lives. If he failed to protect the final remaining fragments of his life and family, Li Ming would undoubtedly crush his entire bloodline, grinding them into nothing but dust.
