Chapter 4 - Leaving Hints

He first deleted all of his hacking records and evidences (mostly to watch paid movies and win free stuffs by controling the lottery results online) before he edited the contents, and made up several suspicious points he 'felt' that 'started' last month.

His contents suggests his unease to the way his sister behaved subtlely towards him. This would be the first seed of suspicion.

Argen made sure to edit the time matched exactly the seconds to hours he was typing in his bed, according to his memories, which had made quite a typing noise to the sound monitors. He wanted his inputs to be as real as possible, devoid of any holes.

Luckily, Argen knows the room was only equipped with sound monitors, when he secretly dicovered their hidden existence.

Argen understood, about the sound monitors not being cameras, that his parents respected his privacy visually, but not soundly, for the sake of his 'safety'. Argen never really bothered to track where the devices' fruits lead to, as the good boy that he (thought he) was. He had great trust in his family, but they never seem to trust him though as seen by the sound monitors.

Fearing that his sister would discover the journal earlier than the authorities, he activated some security measures to make his journals secretly unpenetrable. If ever she would delete, or alter his journal, the hidden storage would retrieve and repaste the data once more when she was out of view from the camera. He didn't need to worry about his laptop getting disposed of since he doubts she would have the guts to raise suspicions as to why the always-room-bound laptop was gone.

The laptop being replaced isnt a threat too since everyone knows all of his technologies has his original watermark feature, a smart siren of himself that wails loudly and sends the owner an alarm when people other than Argen touches it when locked. His phone was an example. Even the fingerprint scanner needed the real skin lest everything with his fingerprints could be used.

No one can replicate something so personalized such as that and if there was indeed someone who Archelle had in store; hacking the laptop to copy the data and security function for the replacement would only fail because of Argen's intense (paranoid-level) security measures that includes hacking into the opponent's data and at least wiping off 70% the hacker's bank account account to send to charity, as 'compensation'. He made it so that the police won't take the complainant seriously as someone who had mysteriously lost 70% money.

"That person's just regretting the decision to help people in need. It's not something major. To take the money back is a jerk decision of his."

But right now Argen made an exception of that function along with his other devices using the remote app within his laptop for the police to not be troubled if they wanted to gather data of Argen's online routine.

Argen left the journal open and put the laptop on sleep mode before he lay it casual on the bed for the authorities to open it up easily. The laptop's battery could hold on for at least a week with the current technology, enough for the investigation.

After that, he went back downstairs. Archelle was already all cuddled up in her blankets and pillows on her couch and was drowsy.

Argen wanted leave a dying messege before he went up to his room but Archelle was still up and energetic. He was worried she'd notice the movements. Now she was asleep and Argen discovered that his cadaver was already tucked in a blanket. His right hand was buried beneath his corpse when he lost his body functions so he decided to try and move those fingers under the blanket's cover. If the authorities questions how the victim able to do so when basically paralyzed, there's what they call the brink-of-death-adrenaline.

The couch's cloth was the soft small-furlike texture which shows a darker color when you swipe the 'fur' opposite to the lighter one's direction. It was the kind of sofa you would usally try to write on using your finger. Argen couldn't have tried to leave a dying messege if it was covered with another type of cloth like leather. He didn't have long nails.

His ghost hand passed through the blankets without disturbing it's layers and controlled the finger carefully using the right amount of pressure in writing.

Sis.Thb.

He made the handwritting seem as if it was a tedious task to write and he even intentionally mismashed some words together to strengthen it's image as a dying messege. Imagine if the words were neatly written and ranged to spots his weak finger couldn't possibly reach, how idiotic would that be? He left it all to those intellegent police detectives to decipher it.

He wrote about the telepathic headband (thb) since headbands like those have recording functions whether the user likes it or not. It needed to record and decipher the brainwaves before it could send out the information to the user. It was like receiving a phone message, which takes up storage space, and reading it out loud. It was a feature that cannot be disabled but unfortunately the contents could be deleted. If that was the case, the police could try to bring the data back and decipher the brainwaves to what the messeges were all about before.

Argen knows that tomorrow morning, when it was time for breakfast, Archelle would pretend to discover that he wasn't moving nor breathing and call their parents in distress. Its up to luck whether she discovers the message or mess it up in trying to shake him up awake.

He felt relieved that he had done what he needed before disappearing to some afterlife realm. Argen accepted his death and he couldn't do anything about the past to change it. He felt at a loss and sad.

Just after he thought of those, his transparent color faded into nothingness and he disappeared towards those who has opened their third eyes. A miniscule spark then appeared on the spot where he left.

He has finally entered Herth's realm of the souls waiting for reincarnation, or disappearance.

____

It was nearly 24 hours since the old woman started to search for the destined 10th System 901.

It was 2:43 a.m. in a continent of Herth and the old woman knew that she had 17 mins left of her search. There were a lot of excellent candidates since Herth had a lot of geniuses but she wanted to pick the very best.

Sometimes she encounters ghosts with slightly above average data amongst the intelligent souls but ghosts weren't eligible since they are those who hadn't passed on and harbored deep negativities. Their souls were tainted and the SBA wouldn't accept defective products despite how awesome their qualities were.

According to the cultivation realm, when people die, they first become ghost due to the fact that they have to peacefully accept their deaths first before their souls are eligible for reincarnation. After reincarnation, their soul data would be wiped out and start anew with the data depending on the parent's genes or the person's living environment.

Every planet has it's own reincarnation realm but sometimes external factors can move a soul out of their homeplanet therefore it is possible for the soul to retain their data and memories if they are constructed or given new bodies instead of being born from the womb. If one is born from the womb, waking up the soul's past life's memories would be akin to finding a moon rock amidst the ocean floor.

Five minutes passed and she had finally caught sight of a soul who had an insane number of IQ, EQ, Luck and Talent.

It was the highest the System Building Association had ever seen!

This soul which had insane stats was immedietly chosen by the excited System Trainer 901. She waved several hand gestures and branded the soul with the System Building Association's logo. A portal between her and the soul was then formed.

The soul was sucked in and transported into a soul ball.

"Huh?" An anomaly happened.

When the chosen soul was 98% in, a new soul appeared and suddenly latched onto the former's tail and went inside the soul ball in a flash.

System Trainer 901 was shocked. She hastily finished the remaining finishing key proceedures so that she could check the soul ball.

The soul ball's exterior had expanded and looked like it would burst any moment. Cracks were slowly forming, depicting it couldn't hold the two souls in it for any longer.

Yes. The soul ball could only accomodate one soul. Above the limit, it would burst and the souls would dispearse into elements, eternally unretrievable.

She called her husband in a panicked voice. System Trainer 845 came and there he saw a cracking soul ball in his wife's hand. The information which was supposed to display the single soul's information was in a jeopardy.

"At the last moment, another soul latched onto the soul I chose and the soul ball sucked in both!" System Trainer 901 calmly exclaimed despite her worried interior and tried to minimize the desperate situation with her spells.

Her husband understood in a snap and immedietly opened up the portal to transport the two back to the System Building Association. He kept his questions to himself temporarily and reinforced his wife's spells while travelling.

------

Inside a large room which was decorated by several shades of green circuits, lay a circular platform in the middle. Ten orbs of light were frozen atop the platform in a neat oval formation. Like a streched loading symbol, the orbs rotated in an increasing speed until a spark appeared and widen up to become a portal.

Two figures with panicked hearts came out of it and was greeted by a humanoid robot, that was assigned to aid the trainer in handling the next steps for the new system.

Before the robot could say his programmed words, he was cut off. "RS Porter! Code red emergency!" System Trainer 901 held the shattering soul ball onto the humanoid's camera eyes. "Asking permission to contact related high officials to aid immedietely!"

Not a second passed and the request was accepted. In a blink of an eye, accompanied by a flash of light, the two trainers was teleported in another room along with 3 new people in different white attires. A blacksmith, a spirit doctor, and a spellmaster.

No words were wasted and everyone went to their respective positions and assignments. The trainers exited after the soul ball was taken away from System Trainer 901's hand carefully.

The soul ball, that was about to blow, calmed down after the combined efforts of the trio.

The blacksmith patched up the soul ball's cracks with valuable materials appearing out of thin air to prevent the ball from exploding before the souls were correctly transferred out.

The spellmaster, like what the trainers had done, was responsible for reinforcing the strength of the material and keeping the elements from coming in contact from some of the souls' leaked parts.

The spirit doctor, needless to say, brought the escaping soul parts back to the ball and nourshed the souls at the same time to keep them in the right condition within the rampant zone. He was having trouble in fixing the second soul's condition since it had suffered tremendous damage from it's forced tag-along.

The souls, being different individuals, wasn't merging and neither were they fighting for supremacy. There was a clear outline that separated them in the middle while rotating as what a soul normally does while trapped in the ball. It was obvious that the soul ball couldn't handle twice the weight and momentum therefore the cracks.

After the souls were in a temporary normal condition and the soul ball's durability was assured by the blacksmith; the spellmaster and spirit doctor guided the two souls into containers that would create their new System Body. The body created, however, doesn't take form from their former look in Herth that had inherited their parents' genes. The new body would instead visualize the true appearance of the soul.
