Chapter 5 - A NEW HERO

The heavy glass doors of the academy's lower sector slid open with a soft hiss. Aditya walked in, his footsteps echoing against the polished floorboards. Having secured official permission from headquarters, his first stop wasn't the armory or the tactical briefing room. It was the school sector.

He walked straight up to the slick, metallic reception desk.

"I'm here from headquarters to check on the new arrival," Aditya stated, his voice calm but commanding. "Has the child been registered?"

The receptionist looked up, startled by Aditya's presence, before quickly tapping on her holographic terminal. "Yes, sir. He arrived just this morning. He's currently being held in the waiting quarters. Please, right this way—you can meet him directly."

Aditya nodded and followed her down a quiet hallway, his eyes sharp.

🤝 A Secret Friend

When the door opened, Aditya saw a small, isolated figure sitting on the edge of a bench. The boy looked incredibly frail, staring down at his worn-out shoes.

Aditya walked over and knelt down to eye level. "Who are you?"

The child flinched slightly, keeping his eyes glued to the floor. "I... I'm fine. How are you?" his voice was barely a whisper, trembling with nerves.

"I am good," Aditya replied gently, trying to ease the tension in the room. "So, what is your name?"

The boy swallowed hard, a painful look crossing his face. "I don't have a name."

Aditya frowned slightly, his voice softening. "Your friends? Your teachers? No one gave you a name?"

"No," the child whispered, a tear escaping his eye. "I have no friends. No one talks to me here... they say I am not from their background. Even the teachers look down on me. I'm just an outsider to them."

Aditya's expression hardened—not at the boy, but at the academy's system. He reached out and placed a firm, reassuring hand on the child's shoulder.

"No worries," Aditya said, looking directly into the boy's eyes. "From today on, I am your friend. And I am giving you a name. Your name is

Hope

. Your target in this life will be to bring hope to anyone who has lost it."

Hearing those words—realizing someone was finally talking to him, looking at him as an equal, and giving him a real identity—Hope couldn't hold it in anymore. He began to cry, the tears streaming down his face.

Aditya gave a small, rare smile and patted his shoulder. "Come on, a soldier doesn't cry. Let's go meet the rest of your new friends."

📱 The Assembly

Walking out of the room with Hope by his side, Aditya pulled out his communicator and fired off a quick text to Jeena:

[Aditya]:

We have a new member on the team. I'm bringing him now. Gather the previous members of Team 8 and meet me in Training Room 11 immediately.

Across the campus, Jeena's communicator buzzed. When she read the message, a massive smile broke across her face. Having served alongside Aditya for so long, she had been waiting for the moment he would take the lead again. The sheer excitement for the upcoming mission rushed through her veins.

[Jeena]:

Understood, Captain! I'm on it. I'll gather the team and be there in under 30 minutes.

⚔️ Training Hall 11

Thirty minutes later, Training Hall 11 was buzzing with tension. Waiting inside were the elite elite remnants of the previous squad:

Leo

,

Milliar

, and

Perry

.

They were all the same age, having survived the grueling academy school years together before joining the official team a year ago. Among them, Leo was legendary; even back in school, he didn't just take normal classes—he was the one taking advanced, extra-curricular sword training modules, moving like a blur before he even graduated.

The heavy automated doors slid open. Aditya stepped into the hall, Hope trailing closely behind him.

Leo stepped forward first, a bittersweet smirk on his face. "Good to see you, Captain. We told you we wanted to come with you on the last deployment, but you completely declined us."

Perry stepped up next, waving his hand dismissively. "Let's not dwell on past mistakes, Leo. The Captain is back." Perry turned his eyes to Aditya and gave a respectful nod. "Good to see you, sir. But... who do we have here?"

Aditya didn't answer right away. He turned his attention completely to the quiet boy standing beside him.

"Hope," Aditya said clearly. "What do you know about your power?"

Hope looked nervously at the three high-level elites staring at him. He took a shaky breath. "I... I only know the basics. I know how to transform, and some basic energy manipulation."

Aditya crossed his arms. "Okay. Do it. Transform."

💥 The Unbelievable Release

Hope stepped into the center of the reinforced concrete training circle. He closed his eyes.

For a second, nothing happened. Then, the air in Training Hall 11 grew violently heavy.

CRACK.

With a sudden, deafening roar, an explosion of raw, untamed Flux energy erupted from Hope's body. The sheer volume of the pressure hit the walls like a physical shockwave, triggering the hall's automated alarm systems. The pale crimson and blue energy swirling around the boy didn't just hum—it screamed, vibrating with a terrifying, high-frequency density that none of them had ever witnessed from a rookie.

Leo's smug expression instantly vanished. His jaw dropped, his hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his sword as the sheer pressure forced him to take a half-step back. Milliar and Perry stood completely frozen, their eyes wide with absolute, unadulterated shock.

Even Jeena, who had seen countless high-level combatants, couldn't stop her breath from catching in her throat.

In the center of the storm, the nameless child was gone. In his place stood a force of nature. Aditya stood perfectly still against the howling wind of Flux, his sharp eyes narrowing as a cold, satisfied thought crossed his mind:
