Security Captain Zhang Zhenfeng wasn't well-educated, but he had been managing the security team in this residential complex for five whole years.
Back when Liu Yang worked here part-time, Zhang Zhenfeng had disliked him from day one.
To Zhang Zhenfeng, a young guy taking a job as a security guard clearly had no future prospects. Young meant unreliable; he had always viewed Liu Yang as completely undependable.
He frequently complained, ranting about how the HR department had no idea how to hire people and kept sending him little brats.
Most infuriatingly, Liu Yang was a student at Donghai University.
Meanwhile, Zhang Zhenfeng had barely finished middle school before dropping out to roam the streets.
He despised educated people most of all.
Higher education, better-looking, younger-every detail about Liu Yang made Zhang Zhenfeng deeply resentful.
When shooting the breeze with the other guards, he often badmouthed Liu Yang and called him a total dumbass.
He loved to brag, "So what if he's a university student? He still has to work as a security guard, and he still has to take orders from a middle-school dropout like me. When I tell him to jump, he asks how high!"
The other guards always chimed in. "Exactly! What good is a college degree? Reading books is useless! At the end of the day, he still has to watch our Brother Feng's expression!"
"That kid's pretty obedient, though. When Brother Feng tells him to do something, he doesn't dare talk back. Otherwise, we'd jump him and beat him black and blue!"
Liu Yang had overheard all of this before.
Back then, to keep his job, he hadn't made a scene and simply pretended not to care.
But now that the apocalypse had arrived, this job was fucking worthless.
Seeing Zhang Zhenfeng attempt to pull the exact same power trip on him, Liu Yang frowned instantly.
He addressed the group coldly, "Whether you believe me or not is your problem. The food in the convenience store is gone. Search for it however you want-just don't fucking bother me."
At those words, Zhang Zhenfeng's face darkened immediately.
This little security guard actually dared to talk to him like that? Was he tired of living?
He was the security captain, the absolute authority around here!
The entire complex was his domain.
Now that the apocalypse had broken out, he had reconnected with a few brothers and even found Chen Dan, the female resident he'd always lusted after. Things had been progressing fast with her, and he felt like he was close to running the bases.
Yet out of nowhere, Liu Yang had appeared. Not only had he made the convenience store's food vanish, but he was also talking back to him right in front of Chen Dan.
Wasn't this throwing his dignity into the dirt?
If he didn't teach him a lesson now, how could he maintain face before Chen Dan?
Zhang Zhenfeng's face twisted in rage. Stepping forward, he pointed a finger straight at Liu Yang's nose and shouted:
"Kid, who the hell do you think you're talking to? What do you mean 'don't bother you'? I'm the security captain-your boss! I can't manage you anymore?
"There was so much food here yesterday, and now it's all gone today right when you show up. If it's not you playing tricks, who else could it be?
"Take me to your place right now. If I don't see any food there, we'll let it slide. But if I find out you hoarded the food and lied to us, I'll make sure you regret it!"
Listening to the man's demands, Liu Yang burst out laughing.
Looking at him as if he were an absolute idiot, Liu Yang sneered:
"Zhang Zhenfeng, did you eat shit for breakfast? Who the hell do you think you are? Back then, you had a tiny bit of power and acted arrogant every day, but now that the apocalypse is here, you still think you're a big shot? I'm warning you-don't bother me again. Otherwise, you won't even know how you died!"
Zhang Zhenfeng could hardly believe his ears. That meek little guard who used to swallow his pride and bow his head now dared to swear at him?
And right in front of Chen Dan, no less!
Unable to hold back his fury, he exploded, cursing at Liu Yang:
"Liu Yang, how the fuck dare you talk to me like that! Even in a crisis, our duty is to protect the residents! Hand over the food right now and we'll call it even, or I swear I'll ruin you!"
The other two guards chimed in aggressively. "Liu Yang, what's your problem? How dare you speak to Brother Zhang like that! Do you want to die?"
"Fucking hell, we never noticed you had such a rebellious streak! The apocalypse just hit and you're already acting this cocky? Believe it or not, we could kill you right now and nobody would even bother to collect your body!"
Liu Yang sneered coldly.
"Heh, residents? The apocalypse broke out and almost everyone is dead, yet you're still talking about residents? Have you been a dog so long that your legs forgot how to stand up? Who in the guard crew doesn't know you're just Chen Dan's desperate simp?
"Licking her boots during peace time was bad enough, but doing it during the apocalypse? With such a golden opportunity handed to you on a silver platter, you still haven't managed to get into her pants. What good are you, you useless trash?
"Women aren't meant to be simped over, got it?
"Having a woman right in front of you and still simping in the apocalypse... simps deserve a miserable death!
"Want to kill me? Do you even have the capability?"
Seeing Liu Yang insult Chen Dan right in front of him, Zhang Zhenfeng lost his mind completely.
"You motherfucker! If I don't chop you to death today, my name isn't Zhang!" He bellowed, charging forward with his fire axe.
He only managed to take a few steps.
"Bang!"
With a sharp sound, his head instantly exploded into a cloud of blood and bone.
Liu Yang had launched a transparent ice needle straight through his skull.
Since the man was begging for death, Liu Yang was happy to oblige.
Zhang Zhenfeng's lifeless body collapsed heavily onto the floor.
"Ahhh!!"
Witnessing the gory scene, Chen Dan shrieked in horror.
The other two guards froze, completely stunned.
"Holy shit! Brother Zhang! What happened to you?!"
"Fuck! What the hell is going on?!"
They hadn't seen Liu Yang move at all. The ice needle was so fine and transparent that it was virtually invisible in midair.
They had no idea how it happened. All they saw was Liu Yang throwing a single glance, and their captain's head had burst wide open.
Terrified out of their wits, the two guards backed away, pointing trembling fingers at Liu Yang.
"Y-You... what did you do?!"
"Is that something you need to know?" Liu Yang shifted his gaze slightly, and two more needles shot through the air, instantly killing the remaining guards.
When he had worked here, these guards had looked down on him, picking on him while playing the loyal lapdogs to the wealthy homeowners-a classic case of bullying the weak while fearing the strong.
They acted as if his 3,000-yuan monthly salary was a handout from the residents.
Didn't they realize he earned that money through hard labor and didn't owe anyone a fake smile?
Liu Yang didn't feel a shred of pity for them.
By now, Chen Dan was paralyzed with fear. Crouching on the ground with her arms covering her head, she trembled violently.
"Hey. Get up and stop pretending to be dead."
Hearing Liu Yang's voice, Chen Dan flinched hard.
Three burly guards had been wiped out in seconds.
This former guard was an absolute demon who killed without blinking!
Fearing that she would be the next one with her head blown apart, she frantically pleaded for mercy:
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me! Please, I'm begging you! I'll do anything you want! I can be your woman-I'll do whatever you tell me to do, I'll obey you completely!"
To Chen Dan, Liu Yang was a ruthless monster. Killing three men without batting an eye-and with such brutal headshots-was sheer madness.
She didn't want to die like that!
As long as she could stay alive, she was willing to do whatever it took.
Liu Yang stared at her, slightly speechless.
"This woman is surprisingly quick on her feet. I haven't even hinted at anything yet, and she's already offering herself up? Teachable indeed!"
Liu Yang looked down at her and said, "Get up and follow me. I won't kill you. You didn't provoke me."

He had executed three full-grown men without a second thought using some unknown, gruesome method.
She was terrified to her core.
"Relax, I'm taking you somewhere safe. Didn't you say you wanted to be my woman? Now's your chance to prove it." With that, Liu Yang grabbed Chen Dan's hand and pulled her along toward his villa.
