There was no expression of regret on Liu Yang's face; instead, excitement flared in his eyes.
As the saying goes, out with the old, in with the new!
If the Black Light Katana was a beautiful lover, then compared to his new Eternal Freezing ability, she paled considerably.
To put it plainly, the old katana could only give him a quick fix-chopping down zombies day in and day out.
Eternal Freezing, on the other hand, was the full package, capable of satisfying his every need.
It was practically an all-in-one, premium service.
Not only could it transform into lethal weapons to slaughter zombies, but it could also serve as a shield, manifest as full-body armor, and lock down enemies. It was infinitely more versatile than the Black Light Katana!
So even though the blade was snapped in two, Liu Yang felt no heartache whatsoever.
"Black Light, oh Black Light, you were strong in your prime, but the system meta has changed. You failed to upgrade-who else can you blame?"
Liu Yang looked down at the pristine frozen greatsword in his hands. With a single thought, the massive blade shattered into shimmering ice crystals that dispersed into the air.
When he needed it again, another simple thought would instantly condense it back into form.
This was infinitely more convenient than lugging a physical sword everywhere!
Liu Yang pondered the possibilities and murmured, "This Eternal Freezing ability is insane. It essentially means I have an unlimited supply of weapons even sharper than the Black Light Katana. Plus, they never melt and last forever. When I get a spare moment, I should forge one for each of my women..."
Then, another idea struck him. His eyes lit up, and he muttered to himself:
"I can manipulate ice at will. If I wrap ice around my whole body to form Ice Armor and then control that ice to fly, wouldn't I be able to take to the skies without relying on the Dark Cloak?"
The thought filled Liu Yang with excitement.
Back before the apocalypse, he had seen online debates about how Magneto actually flew.
Some claimed Magneto wore iron underwear, others said he had metal soles attached to his boots, and some argued that his helmet dragged his entire body through the air.
The theories were endless, each more ridiculous than the last.
Now, if Liu Yang could encase himself in Ice Armor and telekinetically propel the ice, couldn't he fly at extreme speeds as well?
He focused his mind.

A layer of ice rapidly wrapped around his body, morphing into a suit of Ice Armor.
The armor was exceptionally thin and crystal clear; without looking closely, it was virtually invisible.
Yet the hardness of Eternal Freezing exceeded that of diamond. Even this paper-thin layer was more than enough to deflect bullets!
Attacks from ordinary ability users wouldn't pose the slightest threat to him.
Once the Ice Armor was fully formed, Liu Yang shifted his thoughts once more-and his feet actually lifted off the ground!
An ecstatic expression broke across his face.
"I can actually fly! Though it does drain a fair amount of mental energy... I need to stay focused."
"Wait, my control over ice propulsion is way faster than the flight speed of the Dark Cloak! A tiny ice needle can easily exceed the muzzle velocity of a rifle. It flies at least twice as fast as a standard bullet!"
"A rifle bullet travels at roughly 800 meters per second, which means my ice needles hit at least 1,600 meters per second!"
"If I use that same force to propel myself, doesn't that mean my flying speed could hit 1,600 meters per second as well?!"
Liu Yang opened the window, soared out into the open sky, and accelerated to maximum speed toward the horizon!
Just as he predicted, his speed was nearly triple that of the Dark Cloak!
1,600 meters per second-that was Mach 4!
And there was no cooldown!
As long as his mental energy held out, he could use it indefinitely!
It was pure invincibility!
Liu Yang sped through the heavens, his excitement soaring with every mile.
The Dark Cloak fluttered violently behind him, completely redundant now that his flight no longer depended on its power.
"Still, the Dark Cloak's flight ability isn't limited to just my own body-it can grant flight to anything I touch. That's how I was able to lift and fly a whole bus back then without breaking a sweat."
"If I tried using ice manipulation to lift a bus into the air, the mental energy consumption would be astronomical! I'd drain my mental pool dry in no time."
"So the Dark Cloak still has its place."
"When I need to transport heavy cargo through the air, the Dark Cloak is much more practical than ice flight."
Liu Yang hovered over the sky above the villa district, gazing down at his domain.
Looking at the perimeter walls below, an idea crossed his mind.

He could forge weapons sharper and harder than his old Black Light Katana that never melted.
