Chapter 10 - J0ker

We didn't click right away. To me, I thought you were an outgoing kind of person rather than reserved. I didn't think we would end up being friends. You seemed to click faster with other males on the server. I thought they were okay, but little did I know I would be hurt. Their words pierced my feelings. Leaving open wounds to my person. I was surprised when you went a long with their little game. Their "harmless joke". It made me cry, and you felt bad. You wanted to take it all back. I could hear the sorrow in your voice.

I forgave you. Soon enough, you wanted to be there every single time I am upset. Every time I was depressed and thought of self harm. You were the first to call. You were the first that I told. I enjoyed your company and I was surprised you enjoyed my company. You knew that you weren't going to be there all the time. What would happen if you weren't online and I wasn't okay? You didn't want to think about it.

So you recorded a message just for me.I still listen to it to this day.Whether you are online or invisible. Your words sinking into my brain. "What's on your mind? You feeling down again? I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well, and I know that I can't do anything about it....But there are people who care about you. And I'd like to think that I am one of them."

I'd like to think that you genuinely care about me even though we are miles apart. We may not know each other in real life, but I know the person that you put out on the internet. The person I see through my screen may not be the real you, but I enjoy your company and I will gladly take all the emoji hearts you send my way. We've had our laughs and tears.

The time I was stress and you just added cringy bad guitar playing and your spoken words of the song "Old town roads" repeated over and over until I yelled for you to stop. Clearly being annoyed but no longer stressed. Then enjoying a good laugh afterwards.

The time I would spend with you to teach you how to sing. Yelling "no shame!" in my head as I turned on my camera on my phone. You did well and I almost didn't need to teach you anything, other than small techniques that wouldn't kill you.

It went quiet with the occasional check in. See if the other was doing okay otherwise. But then you showed up out of the blue. You called me. I wasn't feeling so good. I was a little down. You told me you wrote me a song, as well as wrote a song to another. Mine was more like a poem, but I didn't care. I loved it down to the bottom of my heart. The words touching me deeply, and the fact that you would do that just for me shocked me. I thought you forgot. Forgot about me.

I love you as a good friend. Even if it is just your online personality. It makes me happy. I still don't know what drove you to care, even if you did explain it to me. I'm just glad I have someone like you around. I know this might not be much. But it is all I can think of to pay you back for your kindness.

Here. <3 take it. It's for you. Thanks for everything.
