Yang Bin didn't spare Su Ming another glance. Instead, he activated his True Vision Eye and scanned the distant base.
With this many zombies, there had to be a Yaoguang Realm commander somewhere.
He hadn't come here for Su Ming. He'd rushed over because he spotted a massive zombie horde on the move. Su Ming was just a bonus.
Yang Bin searched for a long time before finally spotting two zombies-one male, one female-hovering above a building in the base.
The moment he saw them, his eyes went wide.
Both of them were Yaoguang Realm.
No wonder they could mobilize that many zombies. He'd originally assumed a Tier-7 zombie had appeared, but instead it was two Yaoguang-class.
"Now that's what I'm talking about." Yang Bin couldn't contain his grin.
But when his gaze swept over the twenty to thirty thousand zombies massed around the base, the grin faded.
Killing two Yaoguang Realm zombies buried in a horde that size-even he couldn't pull that off.
A frontal assault was out of the question. Assassination it was.
"Haozi, if I sent you in there to take out one Yaoguang Realm zombie, could you do it?" Yang Bin glanced at Chen Hao.
Chen Hao stared at the seething carpet of undead in the distance, running calculations for a long moment. Then he answered with a helpless shrug.
"Maybe. But I probably wouldn't make it back."
"......"
"Guess we need a different approach." Yang Bin sighed.
Right then, the two zombies over there seemed to notice them. Blood-red eyes locked onto their position, cold and unblinking.
Yang Bin's face lit up. He raised his middle finger at the pair and curled it in a beckoning motion.
"Hey-come get some!"
The two zombies seemed to register the provocation. They shrieked.
Instantly, twenty to thirty thousand zombies surged toward them like a collapsing wave.
"Holy shit-Lacking Martial Virtue!"
Yang Bin nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Grab him and RUN!"
Nobody hesitated. They bolted.
Say what you will about the Star Fall Squad-their execution was flawless.
Yang Bin said run, and every last one of them moved faster than startled rabbits.
The two Yaoguang zombies watched these humans vanish into the distance, realized their subordinates had zero chance of catching up, and roared again to call the horde back.
But moments later, that same group of assholes reappeared. The one in front was still making obscene gestures.
Yaoguang zombies were proud creatures. This kind of disrespect was intolerable.
They personally led a dozen Tier-5 Zombies in pursuit.
Seeing this, Yang Bin smiled.
"Zombies are still zombies. Got a little intelligence, but not much."
He'd been prepared to repeat the taunt a few more times. Didn't expect them to lose their cool on only the second go.
"Boys-we've got work!"
"Let's go!"
Everyone snapped to attention.
"Haozi and I take the two Yaoguang Realm zombies. The rest of you handle the Fifth-Orders."
"Got it."
Serious nods all around.
Su Ming, still draped over Old Hei's shoulder, looked absolutely terrified.
"You people are insane!"
Even he could tell the two zombies leading the charge were well beyond Tier-5.
Meaning those two were likely Tier-6.
These maniacs had deliberately provoked Tier-6 zombies. Twice. They had a death wish.
But could you fuckers please not drag me into it? You might not value your lives, but I still value mine!
His limbs were shattered, sure, but with a Tier-5 Evolver's constitution, recovery was still possible given enough time.
Hearing the whining from his shoulder, Old Hei seemed to suddenly remember he was carrying someone. He dumped Su Ming on the ground and cracked him over the head with his rod, knocking him out cold.
He wasn't sure whether an elemental Ability user could still fire off attacks with broken limbs. Better safe than sorry-last thing he needed was a fireball in the back.
The zombies closed in fast.
Yang Bin snatched up his Barbell Rod and swung first at the leading male zombie.
Simultaneously, a Tang Saber launched from behind him, streaking toward the zombie's throat.
After the embarrassment of facing a Yaoguang Realm zombie unarmed last time, Yang Bin had made sure to keep a Tang Saber on hand.
Besides, for Telekinesis, a blade worked far better than a blunt rod.
On the other flank, Chen Hao activated Invisibility the instant combat began, circling for an opening.
"CLANG-"
Yang Bin's Barbell Rod slammed into the zombie's forearm and stopped dead. His brand-new rod warped on impact.
At the same time, the whistling Tang Saber was swatted aside by the female zombie.
With Chen Hao invisible, both Yaoguang Realm zombies locked onto Yang Bin.
The remaining Tier-5 Zombies charged in behind them.
Zhao Kun and the others intercepted immediately, pinning down the dozen-plus Fifth-Orders at a distance so Yang Bin and Chen Hao could focus.
After deflecting Yang Bin's opening salvo, both zombies lunged at him.
One against two. Yang Bin didn't flinch. Barbell Rod in hand for the male. Telekinesis guiding the Tang Saber against the female. He held his ground without giving an inch.
But Yaoguang Realm zombies weren't stupid.
The female grew frustrated at being stalled by a floating blade. When the Tang Saber thrust at her again, she didn't dodge. She charged straight into it.
The saber punched into her chest. The force drove her back several steps-but she seized the blade in her fist, locking Yang Bin's Telekinesis out entirely.
Before she could savor the move, killing intent hit her from behind. She tried to twist away.
Too late.
A dagger drove through the back of her neck and out her throat. One strike. Clean through.
The blade ripped free. Vanished.
The female zombie turned her head with agonizing slowness. Nothing behind her but empty air.
She collapsed, fury still burning in her dead eyes.
"Beautiful!" Yang Bin called out.
Chen Hao had internalized the assassin's creed completely.
No wasted movements. No premature strikes. When he committed, it was lethal. And the timing on that one was perfect.
The male zombie saw his counterpart hit the ground and let out a deafening shriek, throwing himself at Yang Bin in a berserk frenzy.
But if two couldn't touch Yang Bin, one sure as hell wasn't going to. It was nothing but impotent rage.
Moments later, Chen Hao found his opening again. One strike. Done.
"Nice work!" Yang Bin shot Chen Hao a thumbs up.
Since reaching Yaoguang Realm, Haozi's combat power had undergone a qualitative leap.
That Sharp Edge Ability was devastating-one-shotting Yaoguang Realm zombies. Paired with Invisibility, it was borderline broken.
"Heh, it's alright. Long as I'm not up against you, Brother Bin, I can kill anyone in one hit." Chen Hao grinned, radiating confidence.
"Don't get cocky. Some people are sensitive to presence-they'll feel you coming before you're in range. Learn to suppress your aura."
"Mm."
The two quickly carved out the crystals.
Then they helped Zhao Kun and the others mop up the remaining Tier-5 Zombies.
By then, the main horde from the base was already stampeding toward them.
No one lingered. They dug out every crystal, slung Su Ming over a shoulder, and got the hell out.
The haul was massive. Nobody felt the need to push their luck elsewhere.
They headed straight home.
