As the countdown ended, the anticipation of the people reached its maximum.
Some people had calm expressions and others were worried. Around 2,500- 3,000 people had been armed and were grouped with the four golden warriors. A few hundred people were explaining the weapon summoning to others in other areas. In turn they were told to spread the knowledge to others.
Everyone didn’t have the same class of weapon. The weapons of other people weren't as legendary as Tian's sword, Daniel’s spear, Suzuki's shield or Wang's Staff. These four had weapons which had a golden shine radiating to hundreds of meters. Out of about 2800 people, around 13 had weapons with silver glow, almost 70 had weapons with a bronze glow and rest people had red weapons with almost no glow.
Gradually more people were joining them forming four teams, each with a golden warrior.
Most of the females were sticking together and mysteriously a lot of them had their weapons out in the last three minutes. Every one of those weapon carrying women had a cold and determined expression so, no one dared to approach them. There were some women who explained about weapons to other men and women with a warm expressions.
In a matter of 3 minutes, a total of 7000 people(4000 women+3000 men) had been armed after the count down reached o.
A few seconds later,after the count down ended, the red land seemed to vibrate.Dust clouds could be seen far away from the group. About 25-30 kilometers from all directions of the humans,a sand storm like phenomenon was approaching. Blurry Dark figures could be made out in the dust. Although, no one realized that to be able to see something 30 kilometers away in this dark environment was a miracle itself.
When the dark figures appeared, Tian met Suzuki on the way to the boundaries and they discussed some plans. They swore to each other to protect mankind. They also informed the other two(Wang and Daniel) about their plans.
"Finally, the trial started. I guess we would be lucky if a few hundred million survive. This Slaughter mode is too hard for newbies even after reducing the difficulty to casual. And what's with removing the time limit. Why did they do this? Are they scared that we wouldn't die due hellish level? That’s better for me but, why is it different this time?"
"Wait! They haven't found out, right?"
"No, there's no way they could and if they had we wouldn't even be allowed to take the trial. Just executed."
A young man was murmuring to himself. In his hand was a sword of dark red color.It was dark to the point it almost looked black.
"Although it is trash, it might be a good thing for me."
He murmured as he looked at the sword in his hand.
Meanwhile, four people with golden glowing weapons were leading four different groups of people.
They headed towards the boundary of the humans. On the way, they also recruited people after explaining the people, about the weapons. Most were easy going, while some caused problems. The trouble making people were dealt with mercilessly. The people within the armed group were told to act like military and act as one in any case.
A few people also noticed that the language barrier didn't exist here. Everything was understood by others, no matter which language you spoke.
Gradually the dust clouds appeared closer and closer. Finally, 10 minutes later, people could make out the figures clearly as they were about a kilometer away. The figures looked like a mixed species of rhinos and tigers but about 4 times bigger than the biggest elephants on earth. A meter long huge horn on the nose, the eyes of a hunter and skin which seemed thicker than an inch. There were purple stripes on the body and the toes had huge claws. All in all they were burly fat beasts which single handedly crush tanks and tear apart elephants.
They rushed towards the crowd maniacally. Blowing up dust, crushing the rocks and making the ground tremble. Even the scariest tsunamis paled in comparison to this terrifying wave.
There seemed to be an unending hoard of these beasts as they rushed towards the humans without any care.
The gap between the arrival of these terrifying beasts and end of the countdown was a total of about 10 mins. About 100,000 males and 80,000 females had been armed. Males went to the boundaries to protect and gain time for the people inside to summon their weapons so they could fight with full power. While women guided the people from the inside and were forming an inner shield wall.
Every minute, the number of people wielding weapons had grown exponentially to reach this state and was growing even faster.
-Near the boundaries-
"Prepare for impact. Don't fight them head on and try to find weak points to pierce with your weapons. Shield wielders form a 500 meter wall so the beasts can't get through. Try to hold the impacts of the beasts, spear wielders stay alongside them to attack at any moment. People with halberds and swords stay on the sides and try to confuse the beasts. They don't seem that smart. As long as there is no formation we can win this. They are just rushing through."
"Kill any beast you can even at the cost of your life. If you don't and we fall here. There will be no future for our families on earth. They will all be killed. So, to protect your family, your children, and your lover kill these mother fucking beasts."
Tian's voice was loud and clear even under the barraging sounds of the incoming beasts. His voice was filled with anger and hatred rang. The people around him felt their blood boil due to overwhelming anger.
"Awwooo" Tian howled.
"AWWOOOOOO" and the people howled with him.
Similar scenes were seen at all the four borders as, the four golden warriors led the groups of people.
Finally, the beasts were here.
