Chapter 13 - Meeting Nara!

I furrowed my eyebrows and thought,

of course I would save the city that has more people living inside it

. “I would save the city with one thousand people.”

“You have saved the city with one thousand people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and two hundred fifty of those one thousand people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have seven hundred fifty, and two hundred fifty people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again, what do you do?” Hektor said.

I furrowed my eyebrows deeper, “I would save the city with seven hundred fifty people.”

“You have saved the city with seven hundred fifty people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and two hundred fifty of those seven hundred fifty people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have five hundred, and two hundred fifty people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again and you have time only to save one city, what do you do?” Hektor said.

I furrowed my eyebrows even deeper, “I would save the city with five hundred people.”

“You have saved the city with five hundred people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and one hundred fifty of those five hundred people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have three hundred fifty, and a one hundred fifty people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again and you have time only to save one city, what do you do?” Hektor said.

I furrowed my eyebrows even deeper, “I would save the city with three hundred fifty people.”

“You have saved the city with three hundred fifty people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and one hundred fifty of those three hundred fifty people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have two hundred, and one hundred fifty people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again and you have time only to save one city, what do you do?” Hektor said.

I furrowed my eyebrows even deeper and thought,

for how long will he keep asking me this same question?

“I would save the city with one hundred fifty people,” I said.

“You have saved the city with one hundred fifty people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and fifty of those one hundred fifty people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have one hundred, and fifty people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again and you have time only to save one city, what do you do?” Hektor said.

I furrowed my eyebrows even deeper and thought,

again with the same question.

“I would save the city with one hundred people.”

“You have saved the city with one hundred people, but they are shaken up from the monster attack, and twenty-five of those one hundred people move out of the city, creating their own city. There are now two cities and they have seventy-five and twenty-five people respectively. They are attacked by the monsters again and you have time only to save one city, what do you do?”

I furrowed my eyebrows even deeper and thought,

this is getting really annoying…

“I would save the city with seventy-five people.”

A rumbling sound sounded, and a smile appeared on Hektor’s stone face, “You have passed Nara’s test, congratulations.”

I unfurrowed my eyebrows and slightly tilted my head in confusion and mumbled in surprise, “It’s over? I don’t have to answer any more of these, would you rather save X over Y questions?” And as I mumbled, Hektor’s eyes dimmed down, the two torches by his statue extinguished, a rumbling sound sounded and a path behind his statue opened.

I guess that’s that.

I thought; then I moved my eyes away from Hektor’s statue to the exit that opened and walked into it. Once again, I found myself in a corridor and I walked down it. This corridor, like the corridor from before had torches every 5-yards and every time

I passed by the torches they would light up.

After

passing more than 400 torches, I walked out into a medium sized room and my stomach grumbled. I ignored it, and looked around the room. This room was identical to the room from before. There were two torches in the middle of the room, but instead of the four statues there was only one. This statue was that of an incredibly handsome young human man that was around 22 years old. He had long hair, was bare-chested and his six-pack was out in the open for all to see. He had no weapon in either one of his hands.

I tilted my head in confusion as I thought,

a man?...

I shook my head and walked up to the statue. The two torches lit up; then the eyes of the statue lit up and began shining in a golden glow. A status bar appeared above the statue’s head.

<Nara, Level 100>

<HP:6,144,000/6,144,000>

Nara moved his stone eyes and a rumbling sound sounded, and It only stopped when he had his eyes on me. A rumbling sound sounded and a disappointed expression appeared on his face, “It was over 10,000,000 years and instead of a woman, a man appears in front of me. How disappointing.” He let out a heavy sigh.

I frowned and thought,

what's with his rude attitude?

“What is your inheritance?”

A rumbling sound sounded and an arrogant expression appeared on Nara’s face, “I am the werebeast lord. But don’t get too excited, human brat. I am not giving my inheritance to you even if you passed my test. I will only be giving my inheritance to a beautiful woman. As the woman that I will give this inheritance to will become my mate.”

I frowned deeper and then tilted my head in confusion as a thought started to form in my head,

he will only be giving his inheritance to a beautiful woman? And she will become his mate? Isn’t he de—

But before my thought could finish forming, Nara spoke and I lost my line of thought, “Your test is to answer this question. There are two cities. In one live seventy-five people you saved, and in the other ten people, but among those ten people there is your family. You have time to save only one city. What do you do?”
