Chapter 36 - Chapter 35 Recovery

The very next day, the entire castle witnessed a rare phenomenon - Princess Veldina, humming contentedly to herself as she went about her duties. It was a far cry from her usual stoic demeanor, and the change was palpable, casting a lighter atmosphere throughout the halls."Can you stop acting like a maiden in love? It is annoying" Seig's irksome comment hung in the air, his displeasure evident in the narrow set of his eyes and the pursed line of his lips. However, his annoyance was short-lived, as Veldina's radiant smile remained unshaken, her infectious happiness refusing to be dampened by his grumbling.

"Hey Percival, what happened to Veldina? She seems so inlove and out of character. Tsk. Look, she even hit me on the head when I tried to annoy her" Seig said, Percival's laughter boomed through the chamber, his mirth echoing off the stone walls. Seig's disgruntled scowl only served to fuel his amusement, as if the younger prince found endless entertainment in his brother's romantic ineptitude.

"Ah, you won't understand, Seig," Percival chided, his voice dripping with condescension. "You only love sleeping with women and not searching for love like Big Sister Veldina and Marybelle." His teasing words painted a vivid picture of Seig's reputation as a ladies' man, a title he held with pride despite his frequent grumpiness.

Luisa, ever the bookworm, chose that moment to insert her two cents, her words dripping with a world-weary sigh. "True, our little brother is an idiot when it comes to romance," she declared, shaking her head in dismay.

After three months, Isao and Sylveria finally woke up.

"Yawn... That was a good sleep—agh! My body hurts!" Isao groaned. Sylveria, just as stiff, barely managed to move. "Don't move, idiot. We've been asleep for who knows how long, but I'm guessing at least a month or two," she grumbled, frustrated by the aching stiffness in her muscles.

Just then, a priestess, a nurse, and a servant entered the room to check on them. They froze in shock upon seeing Princess Sylveria and Isao awake and talking. "The princess! The princess is awake! Quick, call Queen Aira and King Edric!" the head maid exclaimed. Startled by the commotion, Isao instinctively sat up in excitement—only to cry out in pain. "H-Hey, Isao! Don't fall on me—aaaghhh!" Sylveria yelped as Isao collapsed onto her, both of them groaning in agony. The scene was unexpectedly comedic, despite their suffering.

"Sylv... sorry... C-can't move..." Isao groaned, sprawled helplessly on top of Sylveria, who was also suffering from the impact. "I-Idiot, Isao... falling on me like that... ugh..." Sylveria grumbled, both girls wincing as their stiff bodies protested every movement.

Queen Aira burst into the room, her chest heaving with exertion. A mix of worry and relief washed over her face as she beheld her beloved daughter, Sylveria, writhing in discomfort alongside Isao. Her initial alarm turned to gentle amusement as she observed the absurd spectacle, her laughter mingling with tears of joy. "There you are, my precious little bird," Aira cooed, hurrying to Sylveria's side. She tenderly brushed a strand of hair from her daughter's flushed face, marveling at the sheer resilience that allowed her to endure such torment. Not long after, King Edric and the other queens arrived, their expressions a mix of concern and overwhelming relief.

"Mother... I'm glad to see you too, but please stop hugging me like my body isn't sore," Sylveria groaned, writhing in pain. "Nonsense! My hug won't kill you~" Queen Aira chimed, tightening her embrace as Sylveria whimpered dramatically. Isao burst into laughter at the sight—only to regret it immediately. "Agh! Ahaha—ow! Sylv, stop making me laugh! It hurts! Aghhh!" she wailed, caught between pain and amusement.

The scene was downright comedic. Queen Alexandra and Quintosa found it hilarious, laughing along with the king, while Queen Elysandra and Valleria simply sighed in relief, grateful that the girls were awake and well.
