Sitting on the sofa while watching ballet video in another language—Japanese—she shrieked with exhilaration.
Last night I imagined myself making a friend on Youtube. I was going to ask. Wahh!! I’m so happy she initiated it.
She furrowed her brows and became lost in thoughts.
Yesterday and today are both good, I should write about it… But I ended the last chapter more than two weeks ago… How about I put a date on every chapter I write in the future? Then wouldn’t that make this “The Dairy of Imagination?” Oh well.

What to write…
[Yesterday, I went to the school open house to meet the teacher and change my overlapping schedule. I felt conflicted when I got an email saying that both AP History and French 3 offered at the same time. I finished all the homework over the summer given by the History class but I also don’t want to drop French. After pondering a while with my Nanaka, I decided to drop the AP History because I wasn’t up to writing a bunch of analyze papers and other reasons. That day couldn’t get any better— I was more open and talked to my teachers, texted Badenah about the schedule, got a new History teacher that is also the club that I feel awkward about asking to join mid-year last year, hence I hope that I can talk to him more comfortably. I don’t really like my Chemistry teacher since she asked me to bring a 1 ½ binder to class every day when I despised binders more than anything. I also received a reply comment on Youtube from a Japanese person living in Japan. I’m so happy she continued replying and talked with me.]
“Why can’t I post this!?” Midori re-typed her reply and tried posting it again but to no avail.
Is it because I typed “Facebook?”
She tried it again this time with “facbook” and it worked! Her eyes brightened.
She waited for a reply and luckily around 45 minutes later, found the reply. “Yay! She has an account! Oh, she needs to sleep.”
Posted a reply, she squeaked in delight. However, not long after, the reply from the girl disappeared.
It’s gone… She… No, she said she wants to talk to me tomorrow, just wait until the afternoon for a reply.
She took a deep breath and decided to go make lunch for herself. The left-hanging feeling lingered within her but it didn’t occupy her mind that much. This was what she felt so glad to have.
-----
By night, the girl replied: [good morning, what time is it over there?]
Midori didn’t know what to feel at that moment, she didn’t really expect a reply at all. [10:02 pm. Did you search for my name?]
There was no response and after a while of constantly reloading her facebook page every 5 minutes, there was a notification. She stared at the “1” and clicked it, what popped up was beyond her anticipation and expectation. Not once had she thought it would actually possible to make a friend on Youtube and a foreign one at that. What showed up was a person with a name written in kanji[1] asking for a friend request’s acceptance.
Happily accepted it, she still couldn’t believe as she texted “hello.” Afterwards, a “hello” returned while she looked at “her” profile, seeing a picture of a boy face behind a mask and glasses that was posted 12 hours ago.
“...So it’s a boy…” Her lips parted, amazed at the picture and curious about what he would look like without the white cloth mask. Then she chuckled slightly at the sight of the phone light reflecting upon his glasses, showing a mini version of the picture— his head in a light blue square frame.
[Him: Are you a girl?]
[Me: Yea]
{Him: Oh, I’m a boy]
[Me: I could guess by the picture]
She waited a while for him to reply; each time took him quite a long time of “. . .” before sending the message but it was all short phrases. They chatted for a long while going back and forth with questions, most of them started by her. Then it was time for her to sleep and she said bye to him, sending him a message in hiragana saying “oyasuminasai?” She waited for him was typing something. The message popped up saying, in hiragana, “Oyasuminasai!”
-----
A few weeks later, school had started for them and the messages were getting more little and little by days. For most of it, she was the one who sent the message. Him not seeing the messages of her asking if he was there made her a bit insecure about whether or not she really made a true friend that wouldn’t cease talking with her. Because of that, she stopped sending and wanted to seriously do Duolingo, to learn Japanese so she could have better confidence to send him a text again.
But will he reply then? I mean, he hasn’t even seen my recent texts...Wahhh! School, Chemistry(lots of homework), Japanese, reading the book, writing the story… How to write this one? Hahhh, writing a biography that is closely detailed is harder than I thought! I only want to focus on the real one!
“My Masterpiece(nickname)” she called.
So should I change the status to “hiatus...?” but if I do that, the reader number won’t increase in the slightest… Wahhhh! Am I guaranteed that I won’t drop the masterpiece?? I can’t put it on Moonquill if I’m not guaranteed!! I don’t want to drop another book and read the comments of disappointment again… Hmmm~ Then should I continued this horribly written “The Prodigy of Imagination”!? I mean, I barely wrote about mother and father when there are a bunch of things that are interesting. I barely wrote about my sister and her boyfriend or my hang-outs with them. The time of the events is poorly written and jumping from one scenario to the other quicker than flipping a book! I’m such a bad person!! Writing a horrible book to just secure my place as one of the first 100? 200? authors here. What to do!!? What to do,
Midori!?
