Chapter 26 - Chapter 51

Nolin followed Liniin. In the dungeon, two guards stood by the main door, and the moment they noticed Nolin, they quickly lowered their heads and stepped away from the door. After they walked up the staircase, they finally stepped out of the dungeon. It was located in a valley and was surrounded by a thick and tall brick wall. The staircase was carved into the ground and had no designated building around it. As they were walking, Nolin noticed that the valley was actually a quarry and most likely some kind of mine as it was filled with pickaxes and laps, which were left all over the area. Although the zone was empty on the walls, dozens of soldiers stood guard and were staring at Nolin. Liniin headed for a large gate located on the other side of the fortress, and Nolin followed her. And as the soldiers noticed that they were approaching, the gate was opened, and behind the door stood a man holding two horses.

"Sir, since we have no Ring Of Authority, we will have to go on horseback."

Said the girl with a faint smile as she looked back up at Nolin. She was much shorter than Nolin; she barely reached Nolin's shoulders if she stood on tiptoes.

"Hm... Sure, it has been quite some time since I have seen one." Said Nolin and looked back down at the girl with a plain face.

"Don't worry, sir; I am still practising, so even if you are out of practice, I think you are better than me." Said the girl and chuckled.

"It seems she is quite cheerful now...."

Thought Nolin and sighed. A short span of time later, they finally reached the man with the horses. The horses were well-equipped; they were even wearing armour. Nolin paused for a moment but then instantly jumped up onto the back of the horse on his left. The man nodded and strolled back into the fortress. Liniin was struggling to get on her horse as she was quite short. Nolin looked down at the girl, got off the horse and walked over to her. He gently grabbed the girl's waist and lifted her up onto the horse's back, greatly surprising her. The girl was so shocked that she almost fell off.

"S-sir, I am sorry I showed you something embarrassing!" Uttered the girl with a bright red face.

"I don't mind; after all, without you, I wouldn't be able to get to my destination... Also, it was somewhat funny."

Said Nolin with a barely visible smile, and they kicked off. They were riding in complete silence for many minutes until they saw a large castle. As they rode closer and closer, they could see that many soldiers equipped with swords and bows were stationed on the walls, and when Liniin and Nolin got closer, they all grabbed their bows and started staring at Nolin. The gate of the castle was open, so they roed inside, right to the door of the castle where a knight in full armour stopped them, so they got off the horses.

"I don't know who the hell you are, and I don't know who the hell you think you are, but you are trespassing. Leave now or face severe consequences." Said the guard and grabbed his weapon, and pointed it at Nolin.

"What a lovely greeting. Unfortunately, I have no time to deal with you. I have been asked to come here if this is her territory." Said Nolin and looked at the sort girl next to him.

"Yes, of course, this is her territory!" Jabbered the girl as she quickly nodded.

"Mister guard, You should either step aside or inform your lady that the person she is waiting for is here." Declared Nolin and glared at the guard.

"The young lady is currently very busy preparing for a special guest from a different kingdom, you either leave by your own accord, or I will have to be harsh!" Said the guard and pushed his blade closer to Nolin's chest.

"Sir, we have been asked to come here." Spoke Liniin up.

"Like hell I would believe in you! Only important and high-ranking, and prestigious guests are allowed to enter! Not someone from the slums! LEAVE!"

Asserted the guard and pushed his blade even closer to Nolin's chest, so hard, in fact, that the tip of his blade slightly penetrated Nolin's skin, and it started bleeding. Nolin looked at the blade calmly and grabbed it; without hesitation, he crushed the end of the blade with his bare hand and dropped the broken pieces of metal onto the ground.

"Presumptuous! How dare you act in such a way within the territory of the young lady!" Shouted the knight and pulled his weapon back.

"I have been asked to come here. And the person who asked me is no other than Leion; your young lady should be his sister. I also have his apr..."

"Do you take me for a fool?! There is no way he would ask someone like you for anything!" Shouted the guard at the top of his lungs.

"I see..."

Said Nolin and put Liniin back onto her horse, and he himself got on his horse. He once again glared at the guard and tossed the ring having Leion's crest, at the guard, and he turned around. The two of them instantly left. In his fury, the guard grabbed his sword and threw it after Nolin as hard as he could. The blade hurled towards Nolin and scratched his left arm. Nolin quickly looked behind at the guard, who leaned forward to pick up the ring.

"What kind of piece of garbage did you pitch at me, you bastard?" Said the guard and looked at the ring.

"Tell your young lady that his guest left due to inadequate hospitality." Said Nolin as he glared at the guard.

"Please wait! I am sorry..."
