As they walked through the busy streets of Caspade Town, Mixarnt’s cheeks burned with embarrassment at the attention his pajama-clad appearance and sword drew. Children pointed and laughed, while their parents exchanged amused looks.
"This is exactly what I meant about the 'Pajama Warrior' myth spreading," Mika teased, trying to hold back her laughter. "Maybe we should start selling 'Pajama Warrior' t-shirts and cash in on your fame." Mixarnt shot her a glare, his embarrassment growing. "Shut up, Mika! This isn’t funny at all!"
Despite his discomfort, the two eventually reached the tailor’s shop, a cozy little place tucked between a bakery and an apothecary. The sign above the door read Finest Fabrics & Embroideries, hinting at the high-quality craftsmanship inside.
Mika pushed the door open and led Mixarnt into the dimly lit shop
"Uhm... I want some clothes... a normal white shirt, green pants, and some light shoes that offer protection but aren’t too heavy for a boy like me," Mixarnt said with a grin.
Mika nodded, agreeing with Mixarnt’s practical choice. "Since wearing armor at your age would be too heavy, it’s better to focus on mobility so you can dodge attacks," she said. Mixarnt agreed—he wasn’t a fan of armor or anything heavy weighing him down.
The tailor, a portly man with a bushy white beard, greeted Mixarnt and Mika warmly. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he listened to the young adventurer’s requests. "Ah, an aspiring hero looking to upgrade his wardrobe! Let’s see what we can do," he said, rummaging through a collection of fine fabrics. He showed Mixarnt several options: soft, breathable cotton shirts in various colors, sturdy leather belts and pants in earthy tones, and lightweight, flexible boots with hidden steel toes and heels for extra protection.
As Mixarnt looked through the items, he noticed a pair of dark green pants with intricate leaf and vine embroidery. The material was light yet durable, perfect for someone who needed to move quickly.
"These look great! What do you think, Mika?" Mixarnt asked, holding the pants up to check the fit. Mika nodded in approval. "Excellent choice!" Mixarnt grinned proudly, his chest puffed out in victory.
Dressed in his new outfit, Mixarnt’s eyes sparkled with excitement. The stretchy trousers fit comfortably, the soft white cotton shirt felt great, and the sturdy boots gave him a confident stance. Tying his messy long hair into a ponytail, his deep blue eyes became even more noticeable. "Alright, I’m all set! Hehe!" Mixarnt said with a grin. Mika chuckled at his enthusiasm. "You clean up nicely, Pajama Warrior. Maybe we should start calling you the Stylish Adventurer instead." Mixarnt annoyed but kept smiling. "Call me whatever you want, but I’m never giving up these comfy trousers for a pajama!"
Mixarnt and Mika left the shop, with Mixarnt playfully swinging his wooden sword as they walked. Mika giggled, amused by his carefree energy. "Mika, I’ll race you to the guild! Haha!" Mixarnt suddenly shouted, dashing off.
Mika laughed, shaking her head before sprinting after him. "Oh, you’re on, Pajama Warrior! But don’t think I’ll let you win that easily!" Mixarnt ran full speed, his wooden sword bouncing against his leg. As the guild came into view, he pushed himself faster, leaping through the entrance with a triumphant cheer. Mika arrived just moments later, breathing heavily but grinning. "Not bad, Mix," she said, patting his back. "You won this time, but I’ll be ready for round two." Mixarnt puffed out his chest proudly. "Heh, bring it on!"
