Chapter 2 - There's Definitely Something Off About This Little Dragon

"Wyrm!"

Upon hearing this, the other four young dragons watching from below revealed a hint of sympathy in their eyes.

For them, who possessed inherited memories, they were all too aware of what the term "wyrm" signified!

They also understood the fate that awaited the young dragon now labeled as a wyrm!

Amidst the dragons' daze, Witter had already, driven by instinct, devoured the eggshell that had once protected him.

Licking the remnants of the egg white from the corners of his mouth, he turned to look at the colossal creature.

He was well aware that the "wyrm" the other was referring to was likely him.

However, he was clueless about what a wyrm was.

So...

"What is a wyrm?"

The little one, who had just been identified as a wyrm, spoke, causing Wynterth to pause in surprise. "By the Creator Dragon, you can actually speak!"

Witter looked at Wynterth in confusion,

"Why shouldn't I be able to speak? And what exactly is a wyrm?"

Before he could get an answer, Witter was suddenly confronted with the enormous creature reaching out a claw towards him.

Seeing this, Witter realized something and quickly dashed backward.

However, with his short legs not even a meter long, even if Wynterth allowed him a head start of ninety-nine meters, she could still catch him without moving a muscle!

So, Witter's resistance was doomed to be futile.

He was caught!

But his inherent stubbornness made him unwilling to be captured so easily, so he bit down on the scales next to him!

"Ouch!

After a scream of pain, Witter held his mouth and rolled around.

Wynterth, watching this scene, couldn't help but have a strange glint in his golden vertical pupils.

There must be something wrong with this little dragon!

The disparity in size should have been enough to make the other party realize the gap between them, yet he still dared to bite her.

But when she saw Witter lying in her claw, even though he was rolling around holding his mouth, his eyes still contained a hint of unwillingness and ferocity, and a strange look flashed through her eyes.

"Little one, tell me your name!"

Hearing the deafening voice by his ear, a flicker of fear flashed in Witter's eyes, but he remained defiant.

He is a cosmic dragon, born free, how could he be frightened by such a small scene.

"Before you ask someone's name, shouldn't you introduce yourself first?"

"Hmm, that's the spirit!" he thought to himself. "But in the future, I must control my voice so it doesn't tremble!" With this in mind, Witter stubbornly stared at the pair of golden vertical pupils that were larger than his entire body... and tried his best to keep his tail from shaking!

Hearing this, Wynterth couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation. She had been around for so long, having delivered thousands, if not tens of thousands, of young dragons. This was the first time she had encountered such a haggling little one.

With this thought, Wynterth placed Witter back on the ground, "You may call me Lady Wynterth, and it's time you met your siblings!"

At this moment, the other four young dragons, who had been watching from the side, realized upon hearing Wynterth's words that the last one to hatch was not a wyrm, but a dragon like them. So, they scampered over to Witter with excitement. However, they were met with a roar full of caution.

Seeing the four young dragons halted in their tracks by his display, Witter then turned to look at Wynterth. "You can just call me Witter, and I don't particularly feel that they are my siblings!"

Upon hearing this, Lady Wynterth's brow furrowed slightly.

However, she did not immediately reprimand the little dragon. It seemed that this little one might have some issues.

"Can you tell me the reason, Witter?"

Upon hearing this, Witter sneered.

"Do you think I'm stupid? We don't even look alike. You tell me they are my siblings?"

Hearing this and seeing the vigilance in Witter's eyes, Wynterth finally realized something.

"Do you not have any ancestral heritage?"

Hearing this unfamiliar term, Witter instinctively asked, "What is ancestral heritage?"

Upon hearing this, Wynterth completely understood why this little dragon was so different. Thinking about the education that lay ahead, she couldn't help but slap her forehead.

But she seemed to have forgotten that with her size, even a slight movement could be catastrophic for the five little dragons.

So, without any surprise, the five little dragons were blown into a tumbled mess by a sudden gust of wind!

Fortunately, the dragons' vitality is strong, and even just-hatched dragons would not easily die from a collision with a rock.

In fact, in their encounters with the rocks, these newborns were the ultimate victors, even if it seemed futile!

Watching the little dragons tumbling below, Wynterth finally remembered that these were not her companions. She needed to be more careful with her actions around them.

"I apologize, I forgot that you were just born."

Witter got up, rubbing his forehead, which he had just bumped into a rock, but his attention was clearly elsewhere.

"Compared to this, shouldn't you explain what ancestral heritage is?"

Upon hearing Witter's question, Wynterth pondered for a moment.

"Well, how to put it? Ancestral heritage is a gift left to you by your parents. It can help you understand this dangerous world more quickly!"

Hearing this, Witter let out a sigh of relief.

"If ancestral heritage is about that, then I have it!"

"You have it?" Wynterth was taken aback for a moment, then she asked, "If you have ancestral heritage, then can you tell me what your race is?"

At these words, Witter's interest was instantly piqued, and he raised his dragon head high!

"I am a cosmic dragon!"

The conversation continues with a sense of pride and curiosity from Witter, as he identifies himself as a cosmic dragon, a race that likely holds special significance within the story's universe. Wynterth's surprise indicates that this might be an unusual or noteworthy revelation. The ellipses suggest that there is more to the story, perhaps an explanation or reaction from Wynterth regarding Witter's claim of being a cosmic dragon.

Wynterth looked at Witter with a speechless expression: she shouldn't have trusted the unreliable parents of the little dragon before her, who claimed to be a cosmic dragon. Where did this race come from?

Seeing the proud look on Witter's face, Wynterth had to break the harsh truth!

"Little one, there is no such thing as a cosmic dragon in this world, and you are certainly not one. You are a silver dragon!"

Hearing this, Witter was taken aback!

"But... but my father told me personally, we come from the stars, we are cosmic dragons. How could I be a silver dragon?"

Seeing Witter so devastated, Wynterth also felt a bit helpless. Such a misunderstanding had to be clarified; a wrong perception could potentially ruin an excellent dragon.

Thinking of this, Wynterth couldn't help but feel a trace of resentment towards Witter's parents, whom she had never met. Although there were many dragons who played tricks on their offspring, this was the first time she had seen such a severe case!

"Witter, take a close look at Auer," she said, referring to the golden little dragon standing by. "He is of the metallic dragon kind, specifically the gold dragon clan. And the silver dragon clan also belongs to the metallic dragon kind!"

Hearing this, Witter turned to look at the golden little dragon standing nearby, and then looked at himself...
