Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Great Dragon Academy

Hundreds of meters tall, the colossal dragon strides across the land! Like a moving volcano, it unleashes its terrifying might upon the surroundings. Wherever it treads, rocks shatter, and scorched earth spreads!

It sounds like a walking disaster, but in reality, it's... Wynterth taking five young dragons for a stroll!

Well, "stroll" might not be the right word. She's mainly guiding the five newborns to familiarize them with their future environment and teaching them the survival rules of young dragons.

"Desidero is safe, but that's for dragons who already have the means to protect themselves. You, just hatched, are not in that category!

The jungle is home to many herbivorous dragon beasts, gentle in nature, but that doesn't mean they're harmless when provoked. A newborn dragon isn't equipped to handle them.

So, for the time being, you won't be allowed to go out alone!

Unless you can master some low-level spells!"

"Is it because low-level spells can deal with those crazed dragon beasts?"

As Billy spoke, his eyes gleamed with excitement. Newborn dragons have an innate curiosity, especially for the combat instincts embedded in their blood!

At this, Wynterth let out a soft, almost feral chuckle.

"Of course not!

Even low-level spells, when wielded by different dragons, vary in power. For you, at your stage, low-level spells might at best allow you to crush stones.

The reason I mention this is that if you can use low-level spells, it means you've stored enough magic to fly for a while.

During that time, the surrounding adult dragons can come to your rescue if any dragon beasts are nearby and sense the disturbance!"

Hearing this, the four young dragons who had been holding their heads high just moments ago, immediately deflated.

Meanwhile, Witter, who had been lying on the side observing coldly, couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

No self-awareness at all!

Wynterth's meaning was clear: Desidero is indeed perilous for them, these young dragons.

Instead of focusing on how to grow safely, they're daydreaming about using magic to battle dragon beasts. These guys must have something wrong with their heads!

Doesn't curiosity kill the cat?

But speaking of cats, Witter wondered if there were any furry creatures in this world. Even if there were...

Witter glanced at his left claw, then raised his right claw and scratched it, producing a metallic scraping sound and a tiny spark on his dragon scale.

Yet, Witter only felt his right claw was a bit itchy!

Could such a self really experience the so-called softness and fluffiness?

At this thought, Witter's mood sank a bit, feeling as if he was missing out on a certain pleasure!

Just then, the roaring sound that had been in his ears ceased.

Witter was taken aback for a moment, then looked up at Wynterth with some confusion, wondering why they had stopped.

Wynterth clearly had no intention of hiding her plans from the young dragons.

"We've arrived. For the next hundred years, you will live here together!"

At this, the five young dragons were stunned for a moment, then Witter looked up at the distant canyon walls and the dragon caves above.

"Dragon caves aren't over there, right?"

Hearing this, Wynterth shook her head with a smile.

"No! Dragon caves are for adult great dragons. Where you'll be staying is—the Desidero Great Dragon Academy!"

As she spoke, Wynterth took a step forward, and the surrounding space began to ripple under the astonished gaze of the five young dragons.

Then, in a flash, their vision cleared to reveal a vast expanse of ancient stone buildings before them.

The dragon roars emanating from within made them involuntarily shrink, sensing a threat.

Moreover, the buildings were enormous!

Just the door they saw was much taller than Wynterth.

To Witter, the massive structure resembled a giant conical volcano, only without the molten lava!

Wynterth, observing the five young dragons' astonishment, chuckled and said:

"Welcome to the Desidero Great Dragon Academy. I am the Dean of the academy, Wynterth!

Of course, you can still call me Lady Wynterth!

Or Dean, if you prefer!"

Looking at the massive building, Witter's eyes flickered with a hint of caution.

"Why do we have to join the Great Dragon Academy?"

"Good question, Witter!"

Saying this, Wynterth looked at Witter with appreciation and continued: "That's actually a topic for your first lesson, but since you've asked...

Bloodline inheritance can pass on knowledge and experience, but it's not truly yours!

If you don't actively engage, over time, that knowledge and experience will fade from your memory.

The Great Dragon Academy is here to teach you how to truly absorb and retain that knowledge, ensuring it becomes a part of you, not something forgotten with time!

Additionally, the knowledge in bloodline inheritance is just a basic foundation explored by our dragon ancestors!

If you want to become a powerful great dragon, relying solely on inherited memories is insufficient!"

Hearing this, Witter's face turned somewhat pale.

Noticing Witter's expression, Wynterth gave a gentle, yet somewhat fierce, smile.

"As I've said before, Witter, don't worry about your bloodline inheritance!

The Great Dragon Academy has enough knowledge to last you a lifetime, all housed in the Great Dragon Library, waiting for you to learn, including the basics from your bloodline inheritance.

It's just that without the aid of bloodline inheritance, your learning might be a bit more challenging!"

With that, Wynterth flew towards the massive doors.

As she approached, the huge doors began to creak open with the sound of heavy machinery.

Simultaneously, the dragon roars from within grew louder.

Wynterth guided the five young dragons to the entrance, folded her wings, and walked inside, revealing the academy's interior to them.

Before them lay a vast, flat square, where hundreds of dragons of various species and sizes were either playfully fighting, soaring through the air, or simply lounging about, creating a lively atmosphere!

Even as the dean returning, Wynterth didn't seem to command their attention.

Witter glanced at Wynterth, who was simply watching the dragons with eyes full of tenderness and pride.

Seeing this, Witter's tension eased slightly.

Then, his gaze shifted to the surrounding buildings.

Just as seen from the outside, the entire structure was conical, open at the top, allowing natural light to flood the massive academy.

The academy was divided into nine levels, each with spacious corridors wide enough for several dragons of Wynterth's size to pass side by side. Gigantic stone pillars, a hundred meters in diameter, supported the upper levels.

No stairs were needed because dragons can fly!

Apart from the corridors and pillars, the rest of the area didn't seem constructed by dragons; it appeared to be a genuine volcano!

In summary, it was spectacular!
