“An exotic dragon?”
Witter looked at Wynterth curiously, intrigued by this new term.
Wynterth chuckled and explained, "Dragons are generally divided into three main categories: the Great Dragons, the Earth Dragons, and the Flying Dragons!"
Within the Great Dragons, there are five subcategories: the Metallic Dragons, the Chromatic Dragons, the Crystal Dragons, the Elemental Dragons, and the Exotic Dragons!
The Exotic Dragons, also known as the Mixed Dragons, include all dragons that do not fit into the first four categories.
For example, the Holy Dragons, the Evil Dragons, and your father—all belong to the Exotic Dragons. There are many others, but I won't list them all here.
Initially, there were no Exotic Dragons among the dragon races. However, as various dragon species began to intermingle and exchange genes, some dragons emerged that couldn't be simply categorized into the original four types.
These dragons may possess a wide range of talents and are the most unique individuals among the Great Dragons. Some have appeared only once throughout history!
Perhaps your father had a talent for strength, and now, that talent has been passed down to you!”
“Am I an exotic dragon then?”
“Absolutely!”
Seeing Witter's eyes light up, Wynterth quickly continued, “However, to determine exactly which type of dragon you are, further testing is required!”
At this, Witter was taken aback for a moment, then hugged his tail, regarding Wynterth warily.
“Do I need to give more dragon blood?”
Wynterth pretended not to notice the other's cowardly demeanor and said with a smile, “If you still want to know what kind of dragon you are!”
Hearing this, Witter looked at his tail and hesitated.
Honestly, he had started to doubt the Starry Sky Dragon from his inherited memories.
Both he and his mother appeared as silver dragons, and while his father's aura was immense, it bore a strong resemblance to that of a red dragon.
Thus, he was more inclined to believe he was an exotic dragon.
Although being a silver dragon wasn't bad, he really wanted to know his exact race!
With that thought, Witter cautiously extended his claw and made a slight incision at the end of his tail, barely squeezing out a drop of blood.
But when he looked up at Wynterth, the other was still staring at his tail, clearly indicating that this amount of blood was insufficient!
After a moment!
Wynterth, satisfied, collected a drop of dragon blood, glanced at Witter who was nursing his tail and feeling down, and without another word, proceeded to walk outside.
“Alright, it's time for you to see your future home—a home we all must protect with our lives—Desidero!”
With those words, Wynterth had already reached the entrance of the cave!
Sunlight dispelled the darkness within the cave, and the rocky ceiling was replaced by a vast, azure sky!
The five young dragons gaped in astonishment at the sky above and the distant mountains. It turned out that the dark cave was not everything; this was the true world!
Witter scornfully glanced at the four young dragons.
Such a sight had grown tedious to him through his inherited memories. He even knew that the blue sky was not all there was—the starry sky was the reality!
That being said, in reality, Witter was also secretly looking at the sky.
His father was deep within the starry expanse.
“One day... sooner or later...”
Muttering to himself, Witter withdrew his gaze and then noticed that Wynterth's eyes were watching him with a hint of a smile.
“Hmph!”
After a moment of stupor, Witter snorted coldly and turned away.
Having been forced to give a large drop of blood, Witter was now in no mood to deal with Wynterth.
However, Wynterth's eyes only held more amusement at this.
Witter was acting mature, but only in comparison to the other four young dragons. In her eyes, his efforts to appear mature only revealed his youthfulness!
“Alright, little ones, your gazes shouldn't be fixed on the sky. You'll have plenty of time to look up in the future, perhaps even grow tired of it. Instead, you should look down at our Desidero!”
Hearing Wynterth's words, the four young dragons exchanged glances, then scampered to the edge of her claws. As they clung to the scales at the edge and peered down, they all fell silent.
Witter, who had curled himself into a ball, opened his eyes.
In his gaze towards the four young dragons, there was a hint of curiosity mixed with some trepidation!
He hoped that Desidero was a paradise, a term he was sure fit, but he also feared that his previous thoughts might come true.
Looking up at Wynterth, he saw her eyes filled with a warm and proud gaze as she looked down.
Could a dragon with such an expression truly be the minion of some evil entity?
Witter didn't know!
But after a moment of silence, he slowly stood up and walked towards the edge of the claw.
Noticing Witter's movement, Wynterth's eyes flickered with surprise before she felt relieved.
She had long observed that Witter was wary of her, of Desidero, and even of the world at large.
But she made no attempt to explain anything.
She was no stranger to such wariness; many young dragons, after hatching and not sensing the familiar aura from their bloodline, would act this way!
There was nothing that could be done about it, after all, these dragon eggs came from the wilderness!
Great Dragons were naturally free-spirited, and the solitary ones outside had countless reasons to abandon their eggs, with only a few willing to guard them!
She herself had once been like Witter, wary of everything around her, but eventually, she had integrated into Desidero.
Thus, she believed that Witter could do the same!
Now, Witter had already begun to attempt contact with the outside world, which was a good sign!
On the other side, Witter had no idea what Wynterth was talking about. In fact, he was already captivated by the place below, known as Desidero!
It was a massive canyon, unimaginably large!
Giant plants of various shapes and vibrant colors filled the canyon, turning it into a paradise of colors!
Unknown creatures took flight from within the canyon in groups, circling around before disappearing into the dense vegetation.
On the opposite cliff face, black dots were scattered in an orderly fashion, and occasionally, something could be seen flying out from these dots towards the valley floor.
A peaceful and harmonious atmosphere permeated the entire canyon!
“Not bad, right?”
Witter looked up at Wynterth, who was also looking at him, hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“What are those black dots on the opposite side?”
“They are dragon lairs. You will live there in the future!”
Witter nodded thoughtfully, then looked around.
He realized that the cave they had emerged from was on the side of the canyon, quite high up!
“What's above the canyon?”
“It's the wilderness, a wilderness full of dangers. You must not attempt to fly out. It's very dangerous for you out there!”
Hearing this, Witter withdrew his gaze and looked down again.
Perhaps, he could trust for now!
