Chapter 6 - When the Khenqi Goes Berserk - [C06]

Inside an inconspicuous room at an unknown place.

[Transfer completed. The User is now Shu Himo from the Cultivation World. Good luck!]

“Puah!” The first thing Shu Himo did after coming to the new world was spitting blood. “What the hell?!” He felt pain all over his body, feeling as if he were about to shatter in pieces.

As if mocking him, a loud *Ding!* resounded in his mind, which only served to increase his pain.

[Abrupt Quest: Your cultivation went berserk! Resolve the situation!]

[The former Shu Himo was a rather lazy person. He never focused on cultivating, wasting most of his time. As a result, he advanced mainly by using pills without caring for stabilizing his foundation, causing his own death. Now you have to resolve the problem, or you will die in the same way!]

[Quest Difficulty: C]

[Quest Reward: 1 BS point.]

[Quest Failure Penalty: Your body will explode from within. -5 BS points.]

“What?! If I explode I’ll just die, what are you threatening my BS points for?!” Disbelief spread across his face. How could the system be so heartless?

For a moment he questioned himself if it was the right choice having accepted to become the system's host—”It totally was!” But the thought died just as quickly by thinking about in which world he was now.

Feeling something moving fast within his meridians, Shu Himo experienced for the first time a new sensation: the energy called Khenqi. However, the energy was uncontrolled, moving freely through the meridians and attempting to break out of them.

"System! How can I stop this? I don't have any memories on how to cultivate!" Doing his best to endure the pain(and failing completely), Shu Himo asked as he rolled on the hard floor in agony.

[The probability that the User manages to control the Khenqi from going berserk without assistance is 0.001%. It is suggested to use BS points to buy something from the Shop or crucial information from the Infopoint.]

[Also, the integration of the memories from the former 'Shu Himo' is about to start. The duration of the integration will be multiple hours.]

"What? Multiple hours?... Shop!" While having additional points was always good, he did not have another choice, as being alive was more important.

[Welcome to the shop. Analyzing your situation...]

[Found an item to resolve your situation.]

[Stop-the-berserk! Cost: 50 BS points. Usable only in the Body Strengthening realm and Dantian Core Formation realm.]

“What?! 50 BS points? Where am I supposed to find them?!” Realizing that he didn’t have the luxury of time to talk with the system, he changed his plan. “Infopoint!”

[Welcome to the Infopoint. In here you can find any information you want.]

“I need something to stop my cultivation from going berserk!” He exclaimed anxiously.

[Guide: How to stop your Khenqi from going berserk by breaking your cultivation(100% risk-free!). Cost: 2 BS points.]

“Breaking my cultivation?! How is this risk-free at all?!”

[This is the best method for the current situation. It will resolve any problem present in the cultivation of the User's body, cleansing it from any permanent damage.]

“Are you a sales-system?” Shu Himo rolled his eyes. How hard had it been to get those 2 points? Yet he needed to use them on such a shady deal to survive. Thus, he could only grit his teeth as he muttered unwillingly, “Buy!”

[Detracting 2 BS points...]

[You now have 0 BS points.]

[Proceeding at integrating the Guide: “How to stop the Khenqi from going berserk by breaking your cultivation(100% risk-free!)” in the User's memory.]

“Huh?” Shu Himo felt lightheaded for a moment, but he then noticed a string of information emerging in his mind, as if it were transferring the knowledge he had just bought.

[Integration completed. Thanks for your patronage!]

Stopping his urge to curse at the system due to its stinginess, Shu Himo noticed that he was almost numb to the pain. He then quickly sat cross-legged on the bed close to him and started to follow the method to calm his Khenqi.

He slowed the rampaging flux of Khenqi before laying his palm on his chest. He had already resolved himself to destroy his cultivation and restart from zero. Anyway, such a shallow foundation would only come to bite him later if he didn’t eradicate it now.

A 'kacha' sound resounded from his torso, and he felt his body weakening. Suddenly, he spat blood and felt as if a bolt of lightning crossed his body, burning up to the last cell.

"AHHH!" He cried out, unable to resist the agony, but then felt relieved. He knew he was no longer in danger, but only in a very weakened state.

*Ding!*

[Quest Success: Your cultivation went berserk! Resolve the situation!]

[Quest Difficulty: C]

[Quest Reward: 1 BS point.]

[You now have 1 BS point.]

After staring at the display for a moment, Shu Himo sighed, exhausted from everything that happened. Having completed three quests in a row, he was happy to finally rest a little. Or so he thought.

BOOM!

The door swung open, resulting in a thunderous noise. Shu Himo was jolted awake, while the sound of heavy footsteps made its way inside the room. He quickly turned around, only to see an unfamiliar woman barging into the room.

She had long black hair falling to her waist, blue eyes reminiscent of the ocean and a sharp chin. She wore simple clothing; brown shoes, red pants, and a black shirt. The end of the sleeves revealed her petite arms, the skin as white as jade.

Is she my mother? Shu Himo wondered. Anyone placed in such a situation would have a similar thought. But the reality was different.

“Why did you make all that noise?! Do you think that we dare not to kill you? If you keep acting like that we’ll cut off your tail, then I want to see if you will still dare to make any noise!”

Hearing her words Shu Himo froze, unable to process the meaning behind them.

Not caring about Shu Himo’s opinion the woman didn’t wait for a reply and walked out of the room without noticing the bloodstains present everywhere. She then slammed the door and locked it from the outside, causing a few metallic noises to resound.

“Tail? What tail is she talking about?” Bewildered, Shu Himo reached out his hands in search of a tail, when he was met with a fluffy sensation. He abruptly looked behind, but then stopped moving at the sight of his own white tail.

“System… am I not a human?”

[The User is currently a wolf-man, a species of the Beast Race. Possessing stronger physical abilities compared to an average human, it was the best body available at the time.]

“System…” Shu Himo was almost moved to tears. “So you’ve rewarded me with such a bonus?”

[Eh?]

“After everything you did, I thought you were a heartless, stingy, sadistic, evil, annoying system, but it seems that you’ve your good parts too.”

[The system is fair and just, good parts are the only ones present in it.]

Hearing the system's reply, Shu Himo rolled his eyes. Having calmed down from the new discovery, he thought back about the encounter with the woman, when the realization came to him. He had been kidnapped!

“Oh, whatever.” Feeling exhausted, Shu Himo decided to not care about it and go to sleep. But before he could fall asleep, a familiar sound resounded, alarming him.

*Ding!*

[Abrupt Quest: Escape from or Kill the kidnappers!]

[The former Shu Himo was part of an influential military family, but due to his laziness he had bad combat capabilities, making him an easy target.

A group of kidnappers abducted him, planning to trade his life for cultivation techniques. Escape by yourself from them and prove that you aren’t useless!]

[Quest Difficulty: B ~ A]

[Quest Reward(Escape): 3 BS points.]

[Quest Reward(Kill them): One free Sky graded weapon.]

[Quest Failure Penalty: The relation with your family will deteriorate. -10 BS points.]

“It seems that those good parts were in truth rotten ones…” Both tired and annoyed by the system’s bullsh*t, Shu Himo collapsed on the bed, falling asleep.

But still, he let out a small comment, "I will do it tomorrow..."
