Chapter 74 - Bullying the Strong

The ground trembled heavily as the gigantic dragon fortress smashed its way towards the fleeing Imperial troops that were heading in the northwest direction. The silhouette of the dragon's belly spelled imminent doom to the people that were within its radius. One could not easily flee something that was a few kilometers in size. Let alone survive from being squished from its massive weight.

Just like that, Feihren indirectly slew the escaping enemy troops. Although it was not on purpose, it was definitely something 'helpful' and was very convenient for him. Chasing the other half of the Imperial troops would be pointless. The direction they were heading was pointing to the Jujelei River, which would be opposite of where they were actually from.

"They would still have had to pass by the Garudia Kingdom before they could even return home."

Feihren randomly muttered as he added.

"Then it is better for us to deal with this escaping leader then?"

In truth, Feihren was actually curious as to why the New Dragon Empire would suddenly appear at random. Especially since they showed up when they were fighting against the Garudia Kingdom. It seems that it has something to do with the Bainzen Empire lending them a hand...

It couldn't just be considered some mere coincidence as it seems that that Destrian guy had blatantly interfered in some way and lent a helping hand to the leader of the Bainzen's troop for him to be able to escape.

Lucy's wings opened wide as Feihren switched back to the Titan's Armor as he hopped on to his Titan Slate. This deadly duo immediately burst forth towards the fallen fortress at blinding speeds. It only took a few seconds before the two arrived at the location of the dead dragon.

...

Panic could be heard within the brick fortress of the New Dragon Empire, people were screaming and wondering what had suddenly happened as the Imperial troops braced themselves. The sudden attack that 'sabotaged' their vessel should be from someone of a really high 'caliber'. Definitely someone that they should not take lightly.

Not only did the gigantic figure of the dragon squish the imperial troops below, a few casualties also occurred inside the fortress itself as a few of the slaves and other people, who were not in the least bit formidable, suffered from the sudden impact of the fall.

"...It seems that Fortress Dragon Gyora... Is dead."

One of the draconic generals floated back towards the balcony in which Destrian could be seen. He reported the findings as to why the sudden crash has occurred. All they could find is a tiny puncture on the skull of the dragon that was still continuously bleeding.

"That should be impossible, no?"

Destrian was still maintaining a calm expression. This dragon fortress of his had lived long before he was even born. Heck, it was even born in the age of his ancestors.

It should be one of the most formidable mount one could lay their eyes on in all their lives. It was a powerful entity, even in comparison to everyone in Nuwiell, and now one would say that it was killed? Without him, the new great dragon emperor, noticing the attack? For Destrian it was definitely impossible.

A now panicking figure rushed towards the balcony in which Destrian was staying.

"What... What happened?! Why are we not moving!?"

Adrian's flustered face was looking pale as he stuttered each word he was trying to speak. He had lost his prided calm demeanor as he glared in the direction of the powerful sonic boom that could be heard. His already pale face turned grave as he shuddered in place, hiding behind the fat frame of Destrian.

Pseudo-dragon wings flapped through the surrounding of the dragon fortress as numerous New Dragon Empire imperial troops immediately gathered to intercept the unknown entity that was hurriedly approaching them. It was evident that whoever this was, it was the one responsible for what has happened to the Dragon Fortress Gyora.

"It seems that we've got company, eh?" Destrian smiled as he saw the approaching figure of Lucy and the king of the Wolfenstein Kingdom, Feihren.

...

Lucy coldly gazed at the figure on the balcony of the dragon fortress.

Both Feihren and her halted a few meters back as multiple winged soldiers intercepted them before they could close in on Destrian.

"Oh! It's you milady. How nice of you to come here again! Would you like a drink?" Destrian mockingly greeted Lucy as he raised a glass of wine to 'toast' her arrival.

"It's fine, I am not thirsty. After all, you'll be needing all the food you can carry because you'll be walking, or in your case flying, your way back to your little empire..." Lucy replied as she laughed at Destrian, who was obviously starting to lose his cool.

"Tsk... Let me see you laugh when you're already a cold corpse, tsk such a waste for a potentially powerful maid..." Destrian was still able to reply calmly as he retorted to Lucy's mockery.

"Too bad I am not for hire then."

"Attack them!" Destrian did not hesitate anymore as he commanded the imperial draconic troops to seize Lucy and Feihren.

Numerous soldiers with the ability to fly charged towards the unmoving figure of Feihren that sat cross-legged on the Titan Slate. His figure was unmoving, as if he was calmly waiting for something. The same thing was happening with Lucy, she did not bother counter-attacking any of the imperial soldiers as she placed the wall-like aegis in front of her.

Swords and spears of different size and shape landed on the body of Feihren...

Loud clanking sounds of metal on metal and the sounds of weapons shattering were heard as the swords that were basically 'trash' in the eyes of Feihren turned into tiny debris the moment it made contact with his body. Those soldiers with 'better' equipment were 'lucky' that their weapons did not break. Instead, their arms were either heavily bruised or their bones were snapped into two from the recoil lancing straight back into their bodies.

Similarly, those that have attacked Lucy did not do a single bit of damage to her, nor could they dent the aegis she was holding. Although they did not suffer the same fate as those that have chosen to attack Feihren, most of them were still either chopped in twain mercilessly, or bonked in the head with the gigantic shield, making them unconscious if they were lucky. Those who weren't so lucky got a severe concussion, enough to kill them...

"Eh? And here I thought that the New Dragon Empire is supposed to be something formidable amongst all the nations of the Omod Continent?" Feihren inquired as he turned his gaze towards Lucy.

"Oh, that would not be wrong Your Majesty. In fact, these winged soldiers are much more formidable than those flying beasts of the Garudia Continent. It would be more so if the True Dragon fleet was the one fighting. Sadly, if they are against you Your Highness, I don't think it would make a change, not in the slightest bit." Lucy replied in an enthusiastic tone. She continued slaughtering the charging soldiers while still paying attention to Feihren.

"Is that so? Well, I have never gauged my strength in comparison with the strongest there is in this world currently..." Feihren caressed his chin as he thought. "Maybe I should pay a visit to the other kingdoms within other continents sometime..." Feihren replied earnestly.

"That would be a really great idea, Your Majesty!" Lucy excitedly replied.

The calm demeanor of both Feihren and Lucy angered Destrian even more. It was even worse because they are talking as if they were pulling a script right out of their as*. Their tone sounded to Destrian's ears as if they were threatening the New Dragon Empire themselves. Paying them a visit? Are you trying to joke around? These two absurd people will never be welcomed in any kingdom or Empire if Destrian has any say in it.

"...Such mockery"

Destrian's eyes glowed bright red as the slit on his retina became vividly clear. It made one feel as if one was staring into the abyss if they were to look within those eyes mistakenly.

A huge pair of scaly dragon wings appeared on his back as Destrian rushed towards Feihren. They were almost the same size as the ones Lucy has.

Adrian, who had witnessed this scene unfold, hurriedly rushed back inside as he hid in the cellar.

"You are just as impatient and easily angered as I thought... You're bad at acting cool and all, you chunky monkey."

Lucy intercepted Destrian right before he could reach Feihren. "Don't even think about getting near to our king... not even the tip of your finger is worthy to touch a single strand of his hair..."

A single wing was ripped off Destrian's back in an instant as Lucy grabbed the other, cracking the bones in it.

"Did I not tell you to not interfere with us? Too bad I was the one assigned to give you your reward for crossing that line..."
