Chapter 25 - I Only Need Ten

"Instead of staring at me all day, I'd rather you help your king over there." Feihren coldly said to the dumbfounded generals and the clueless people who just arrived that were doing 'nothing' but stand there in shock.

The soldiers who have just arrived had no clue why the arena was empty yet seemed like some kind of intense fight did occur. But as for the generals and elders, they had witnessed three unprecedented things in a matter of a few minutes.

First, the king was knocked out cold by this man named Feihren in one decisive blow. Next is how the queen suddenly went down to the arena and showed off an extreme amount of power. Unfortunately she revealed this power by attacking the already unconscious king all of a sudden, though Feihren seemingly defended the king with ease.

Lastly, Feihren released a powerful attack capable of killing a King-class person in one go. These three things are what left them dumbfounded and unable to remove their gazes from the man responsible for all of it.

"And yes I did that to your king, he's not dead though. It was all due to him asking for proof of my strength so he can be assured of your kingdom's victory. I do hope I could be of service." Feihren casually did a half bow as he walked out of the arena.

...

'Sigh, what was that all of a sudden? I was just planning to show off to the king a little and get the necklace in a somewhat legit manner. Now though, I just got it from a cold, dead corpse, tsk tsk'

Feihren sighed while strolling through the kingdom's streets randomly, looking for a place to stay for the night. It was way too awkward to stay and sleep at the castle…

Within an inn not far from the castle, Feihren had settled down for the night, reviewing everything that happened and the further plans down the road. First of all, the matter of this kingdoms "plight" was definitely something that doesn't really interest Feihren. Aside from the fact that there was a demonic essence in Wolfenstein, he had no reason to go along with conquering it. He doesn't really need anyone else to "help" him retrieve it as far as he was concerned.

He could technically back out now due to him not getting the "necklace" as it was destroyed during the battle after the sudden attack of the queen. However, Feihren decided to dismiss this thought, as he technically got what he really wanted in the first place. On top of the fact that shamelessly leaving after killing a queen and injuring the king was definitely something that would bother Feihren down the road. Even if it was both of those motherf*ckers that attacked him in the first place, it was still him dealing deadly blows.

After finally deciding to "help" this kingdom, the next concern was this powerful demonic essence he got from the queen. Infusing it without thought would just be reckless. Feihren saw how the demonic essence boosted the queen's powers, but in exchange, she was driven crazy by her inner desires even though she remained in control of her consciousness. The Ancient Demon Lord in Feihren's possession seemed to be a little timid if he thinks about it.

It is a little odd for a demon lord to actually listen to him, and explain to him important things that Feihren should know. But this demon lord's consciousness was only a tiny portion of its entirety. Who knows whether the Ancient Demon Lord would turn rogue when he gains enough power to break free from the carbine and wreak havoc again? Although he was in spirit form right now, the collective power of his consciousness possessing someone would actually be a threatening entity, as it would embody the past demon lord himself.

Feihren decided to find a way to strengthen the binding of whatever is trapping the demon lord within his weapon first. Or he could infuse the third fragment to a different weapon or equipment. Doing either of those things would need him to return to the dwarves' village so he could properly seek their assistance regarding all this.

The last thing he needed to consider was what to do with the 9,000 general exp he currently has. Well, this was already decided back when Feihren was experimenting with the effects of general exp

"Base HP: 9,100"

"Done…" Feihren did not hesitate in pouring all 9,000 of his general exp just to even out his HP bar. For him, it was way too awkward to look at the "10" on it. Being kind of OCD perhaps, but maybe it was natural to feel awkward about having a 2-digit addition to a 4-digit HP bar. With all these things settled, Feihren calmly rested and passed through the night without anything bothering him.

Feihren left early in the morning, paying the innkeeper with a palm-size ruby. He proceeded to walk to the direction of the kingdoms castle.

" …"

The innkeeper held a blank expression while holding the heavy gem with both his hands

...

Feihren went to castle expecting that the guards would have him wait outside when he sought an audience with the king regarding the matters of Wolfenstein. However, surprisingly enough, the guards hurriedly opened the doors for him saying,

"The king has been waiting for you."

'Waiting for me? It still 6 in the morning! If not for this being 'important' I'd still be sleeping my as* off. Shockingly enough, the hall was full of people already. Some familiar faces from yesterday greeted Feihren respectfully. The king was lively even though he suffered great injury yesterday.

'Having high regeneration due to being a barbarian class does come in handy' Feihren thought to himself as he forced a smile out towards these people.

"My condolence Your Highness, I had no other choice but to eliminate her."

Feihren's first business here was to "apologize" for the unprecedented event yesterday.

"It is I who needs to apologize, for a lot of things even. First is for doubting your strength. I deserved to be rendered to such state, and I thank you for helping me yesterday even though I was still technically your enemy within that arena. Second is for decisively dealing with my wife. Though it pains my heart, it was for the betterment of the kingdom…"

The king's face was stiff and sincere, but a hint of sadness was evident as his eyes started to tear up.

"And lastly, the necklace that you wished from my wife was destroyed from the battle yesterday, and for that I hope that you would accept other things for your assistance. Even though I do think that that necklace held something that was important for you, I hope that other things could compensate for it." King Samson added.

"It is fine." Feihren interjected

"I do hope that a share of 40% of all the spoils of war would satisfy as your compensation?" The king immediately replied.

'40%?!? The people within the hall gasped as they heard this. Wasn't this too much for a single person to own? What about the war expenses and the other soldiers?' The elders and generals within the meeting thought to themselves, but they soon dispersed such needless thoughts as they heard Feihren's next statement, which left them all in shock.

"40%? That's generous of you my king. Then, as for what I need to win this war, provide me a group of 10 people. I'll be leading them in seizing the Wolfenstein kingdom for you."

"An army of 40 thousand good men would arrive tomm… wait, what?! 10 men? Did I hear you right sir Feihren?"

"Yup, as to cut your expenses and all that, I'll only need 10 men. Is that fine with you?" Feihren decisively replied.

"This…" The entirety of the hall was now dead silent.
