"Greetings, young man." The elven chief cheerfully greeted Feihren. "I have heard from my daughter here that you have helped us recover the abducted Spirit Guardians, and for that I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is nice to see that people with good intentions like you still exist." The chief added. Vera Beau blushed as she avoided looking at Feihren.
Feihren bowed respectfully towards the chief as he heard the praises. He had only acted by instinct at that time, as he could not stand seeing such abuse, especially towards helpless animals like the spirit wolf pups. It would take a heartless person to ignore such a situation easily.
One of the elven archers within the group interjected as they approached the village gate,
"Chief, this man right here is Gama Feihren. He claims to be the current King of the Wolfenstein Kingdom."
The elven archer introduced Feihren as he nodded in approval.
"King of the Wolfenstein Kingdom? Then… What happened to the grandson of that devious old man Louie?"
Surprised by the information given by the elven archer, the chief immediately asked Feihren about the happenings within the Wolfenstein Kingdom as he caressed his bearded chin.
"Ah, you knew about them? Well, a supposed rebellion was planned out by the soldiers within the Kingdom as they could not handle the tyranny of King Louie anymore. That old man was just breeding humans for food within his kingdom you know?"
Feihren told the old chief all about what was going on with the Wolfenstein Kingdom before he came to conquer it, and then he included some of the changes he added.
"Ah, how far he has fallen… He was a prominent king back then. He was one of the youngest kings to have ever handled the throne. I knew him personally once upon a time. I was quite young back then when my father had a close relationship with him. They remained good friends until that day when he decided to betray us, and stole one of our sacred treasures. How is he doing now? Have you captured him or was he able to flee during the uprising?"
The elven chief reminisced about the times when they had peaceful ties with the human's of the Wolfenstein Kingdom.
"Ah… He's… already dead." Feihren hesitated to reply. It was awkward to admit to someone about people that are already dead, as you have to fill them in on what really happened.
"Huh? Dead? That would be a bit impossible, wouldn't it lad? Back when he boldly stole one of our treasures he was already a master of the Dark Arts, and had cultivated a forbidden skill in order to prolong his life almost indefinitely. With how he was going he would have gained a pseudo-immortality by now." The elven chief interjected as he spewed information that Feihren already knew.
"I personally killed him, although it is a long story… Ah!" Feihren stopped his sentence short as he remembered something that could be proof to all of the chief's queries,
"Does this happen to be your treasure?"
Feihren waved his hands as a large, dark-colored cloak incrusted with tough dragon scales appeared in front of the elven chief.
'[Dark Dragons' Cloak] (Legendary)'
"This... this was the stolen treasure! You do have it... This could only mean that..." The chief could only mutter these words due to the item that appeared in front of him.
Feihren nodded as he continued. "Yes, I did acquire it from King Louie himself... But, could I ask one more question? Is this also one of your elven treasures?" Again, Feihren waved his hand as another item appeared.
'[Jade Dragon Armor] (Legendary)'
Silver and green colored plate armor appeared which caused everyone, including the elven chief, to gasp. "This! This is one of our sacred treasures for sure... But, this was lost before I was even born. It has been almost 300 hundred years since the Elves have had ownership of that legendary armor! How did you... why do you have it?" The chief was stuttering while muttering the words about this specific armor.
"... Come this way... Your Majesty! I would like to show you something! I have not introduced myself yet... a ...I am Zow Beau. You can just address me as Zow. Come!"
The village gate opened as Zow hurriedly directed Feihren into the middle of their village. This place was not very wide. The houses were either built crudely on the ground or beautifully in the trees. It seems that elves like their homes to be one with nature.
Chief Zow and most of the elders believed that if there was anyone who was able to possess the power of their three sacred treasures, they would be the 'World Savior' that would save them from an upcoming 'Dark Age'. Although this was merely a story passed on from generation to generation, the elves have taken the words of their ancestors and oracles into their hearts. It had allowed their race to survive the brink of extinction by taking note of the warnings and omens, and preparing early for the disasters that came after.
In the middle of the town was a gigantic boulder with a sealed wooden door. Zow removed the lock as he guided Feihren within what seems to be an underground tunnel. Leaving everyone behind, Feihren, Zow, and the adolescent Spirit Wolf went inside the tunnel. The Spirit Wolf, oddly enough, seemed to be the one most familiar with the place.
It wasn't entirely dark, as wisp-like objects were sticking to the ceiling and walls, illuminating the place. The walk wasn't that far as they arrived at the entrance of a cavern. 'No wonder their treasures could easily be stolen...' Feihren thought to himself as he followed Zow and the Spirit Wolf.
Within this cavern-like room was a shining silver helm that is shaped like a dragon's skull. It was hung above an intricately carved wooden pole. It was not emitting any powerful aura though... Feihren walked closer as Zow signaled him to check the helm out.
'[Silver Dragon Helm] (Legendary)'
According to Zow, the three items were created by the ancestral blacksmiths. The ancestral blacksmiths were close relatives of the dwarves and elves from long ago. The items were made from the deceased bodies of the three legendary dragons that resided within this very forest a thousand years ago. These treasures held unknown levels of power. Although these were the sacred treasures that the Elf race swore to protect, none had ever discovered their true purpose, as nobody had witnessed what it was really capable of.
Feihren closely inspected the shining helm...
A faint glimmer from the treasure was followed by a sudden trembling that was felt all of a sudden. The [Jade Dragon Armor] and [Dark Dragons' Cloak] suddenly attached themselves to Feihren, who was still in a daze while taking in what was happening. The helm floated up as it suddenly rushed towards Feihren and covered his face.
Feihren struggled in an attempt to remove all these 'possessed' pieces of equipment that he suddenly had covering him. All three treasures started to glimmer in white light as they covered the entirety of Feihren's body.
Feihren immediately checked his status page to see if he was losing HP or had a special [Special Ailment], but none of this was true. In fact, not a single point of HP was lost... Although, Feihren noticed that green lights were leaking from his body, which in turn were 'swallowed' by the white light that the treasures were emitting.
Going off a hunch, he checked on his general exp values... And he was right, hundreds of his general exp was being sucked away every second as the light that coated these items was getting brighter and brighter by the minute. Zow and the Spirit Wolf attempted to get near and help Feihren yet they were being pushed backed by the force of the bright aura.
After a few minutes... Feihren felt that the items were getting tighter and tighter. The helm was pressing against his skull as the cloak and armor were starting to crush his chest and bones... Feihren anguished as the white light entirely consumed his body... The pain was kicking in so hard that Feihren was starting to lose his consciousness. But before he fainted, he checked his status page, 'I still have full HP huh...?'
*Thud!* Feihren collapsed on the ground as the light dispersed entirely... Surprisingly, all the three treasures... were gone? Zow inspected the area to see if anyone else was there with them yet he couldn't feel any other presences except for their own. The Spirit Wolf licked Feihren's face in an attempt to wake him up as Zow called for help in carrying him out.
