Chapter 8 - Appearance of A Prodigy

Calmly walking towards the arena, it was Lucy's turn to display her prowess in battle.

Although it was definitely obvious that this Xavier kid has high potential in becoming a powerhouse for his kingdom, he is someone that Feihren would eagerly recruit for the future of the Wolfenstein Kingdom, if he agrees to it, that is.

Well, agreements come with a little bit of 'persuasion', and that's what Lucy is aiming for right now.

"Little boy, let's have some fun while we're at it okay?" Lucy initiated a 'little talk' before the horn rang signaling the start of the bout. Without a moment's hesitation, Xavier burst forth in shattering speeds as his figure suddenly drew closer to Lucy.

"Ohhh, what a talented kid you are." Lucy calmly commented as she moved to the side ever so slightly, avoiding the sword that poked out of nowhere from Xavier's hand. His agile movements paired with high dexterity enable him to draw his sword and attack in mere seconds!

Lightly tapping the knee using the tip of her toe, Lucy tripped Xavier who easily fell due to the momentum of the attack he did. Hopping a few steps, Lucy then made a gap between him and Xavier who immediately stood back up.

"Madame, are you not drawing your weapon?" Xavier inquired as he dusted himself off.

"Hmmm... I'm not feeling the need for it, why don't you make me?" In a blink of an eye, Lucy was immediately right in front of Xavier, the slightly bulky armor she was wearing contradicted the blinding speed as a dark trail of afterimages followed suit.

The flashing speed was fast enough even for Xavier to react properly, as he tried to randomly counterattack by slashing his sword in front of him. It was a bit too late though, Lucy's helm was within arm's reach as she lightly "tapped" Xavier's chest, as his figure rolled a few meters, only halting at the edge of the stage.

"See? I don't even need a sword for this?" Lucy tried to mockingly reply, but it seems that the fighting spirit of this young man does not easily falter as he stood back up, as if he did not take that much damage... Hmmm, not much damage?

Lucy keenly observed as she noticed that the wounds from both the fall earlier immediately healed the moment Xavier stood up! This piqued Lucy's curiosity even more. She was now interested in how far this kid could really go, besides, aside from Feihren, no one within the kingdom could be considered equal to how strong she was, but this kid... He could take a few hits and easily shrug it off! It was indeed amazing!

Opposite to how curious Lucy was, Feihren could clearly tell what was happening...

"... A pair of overpowered skills, this kid isn't just mere talent, he's gifted as well!" Feihren expression was full of delight, someone aside from the Ancient Demon Lord appeared that he could consider as actually "strong", and he's still of a young age.

Feihren was curious on how this person achieved such heights at such age and even acquired those skills, he was curious on what fortuitous encounter he had experience, although one thing was for certain, he was indeed exceptional.

Although the 'tap' did a decent amount of damage, it was obviously not the best Lucy could do. He could kill a grown man with a just strong slap if she wanted to, although it seems that she has to do something a bit more serious than that in order to 'win' against this young knight.

She has a total of 5,000 units of damage in her single hit, which would mean she only needed to land at least 3 serious attacks on Xavier to totally kill him, which of course was NOT her aim. Although it seems that two would be enough to push him into desperation?

The fight continued...

The blows were flying back and forth, although, those that were landing were only from Lucy's side. Not a single point of damage was applied to any of Lucy's demonic parts, not even her arms.

But on the other side, all the serious attacks that Lucy was landing were all regenerated almost instantly! This fight actually turned out to be equally matched!

The crowd was cheering loudly at the spectacle of the battle, it did not seemingly look like a one-sided fight as Xavier was not backing down even for a second as he tried his best to keep up with Lucy's pace.

"I am not someone to easily back down madame!" Xavier spoke up as he wiped the blood off his face, the wound on his cheeks immediately healed as he, again, rushed towards Lucy.

"That's definitely good! I am hoping for that kid!" Lucy cheekily replied as she avoided the sword that was directly aimed towards the slit on her helm. "And it seems, you also know how to fight smart? You're really someone amazing kid, I'll give you that, but, it takes more than skills and brains to win a fight, you know?"

"Oh, and what is it, madame?" Xavier replied as he repeatedly slashed towards Lucy...

"Simple, it's experience, and I have tons of it."

The ten-minute duration of both the skills immediately died down as the power behind Xavier's swing dwindled marginally as if it weren't even a fraction of what he did the entire fight. The stamina that he was able to muster up until now started to take a toll on him as he felt that his body weakened. Although he had used these skills for almost the entirety of his life, it seems that the strength and power he mirrored right now was too much for him to handle.

He did not notice until the time was over...

Lucy dashed behind Xavier, as she, again, lightly tapped his back, toppling him over outside the stage...

"I do not know how you suddenly have such strength for a moment there, but you are not the first one I have encountered with something like that, and all of them had a single weakness. They all do not last long. You should always make use of what you have as much as possible." Lucy casually tossed a piece of advice as she flew down the stage, assisting the injured Xavier.

"Although, I could teach more than these petty pieces of advice... Your an outstanding genius, how about becoming my student? I'll show you true strength."
