Feihren opened the communication scroll as it displayed the following characters.
[The Garudia Army is sighted near the First Tower Sector, 100 kilometers away.]
"Well the enemy is not that far away now, but I guess they're not too near either... Hmmm, they'll reach it in around a few hours or so? If we go now... We would have ample time to prepare." Feihren laid out his thought to Old man Mendi and 'Samael' as he continued.
Feihren's eyes were looking tired from all the sleepless nights throughout the entire month. The stress from all the problems he had faced just from the single attack of the Garudia Kingdom made him a little bit groggy as he yawned while talking.
"Don't push yourself too much lad. You should rest first. It's still dark outside and I am pretty confident that the towers can hold off a lot longer than you'd expect." Old Mendi proposed that they should take a good night's rest first before proceeding to the battlefield.
"Hmmm... a hundred kilometers would still roughly take them the entire night, or the remainder of it, to reach the first sector... But, I do not want to be reckless again and push my luck, it would still be better if I'd go there as soon as possible." Feihren had thought about resting but had dispersed the idea the moment he remembered the risk of being 'late'.
"...If I may interrupt, Your Highness. It would be fine to settle in for tonight and travel early in the morning. It would only be a few hours from now, but a short rest is still better than nothing." The dark armored 'Samael' interjected as she continued, "And we could be there in an instant if you so wish. I can just summon the [Seraphim's Gate] for us to arrive at the first sector immediately."
"Oh right... that skill of yours... Thanks, Sama...erm" Feihren stopped mid-sentence as he continued, "It seems that it would be inappropriate to call you Samael now... you are technically not 'him' anymore... hmmm..." Feihren had pondered for a while.
"It would be fine to refer to me as 'Samael', Your Majesty. Although it seems that 'this one' does not have a proper name, to begin with." The female 'Samael' added with a cheeky lilt to her voice.
"Hmmm... Samael... Lucifer... Lucy? How about naming you [Lucy] then? That sounds feminine enough." Feihren smiled as he thought of the new name for 'Samael'.
A faint light swirled around 'Samael' as the apparent change in his character page appeared.
"Character Name": [Lucy] (Sentient Demonic Ruby Ore)
"Lucy... that sounds beautiful Your Majesty. This servant humbly accepts the new name," Lucy replied as she bowed towards Feihren.
"Ah! No... Don't consider yourself as a 'servant', you've technically been with me for quite a while now, and I would prefer to consider you as a partner or a member of the team of some sort... So please," Feihren immediately replied as he tried his best to stop himself from yawning.
"See? It seems that you really need the sleep young lad. Don't worry, just rest well. Everything's gonna be fine tomorrow. Besides, we'll be there in a jiffy." The old chief smiled as he lightly patted Feihren's back.
...
It was almost noon when Feihren woke up. The king's bed was way too comfortable, and he fell asleep for way too long. He was thinking about Lucy's overpowered teleportation gate and how convenient it was so he had been resting, believing that he would get there on time easily. He had almost forgotten that there was an imminent battle incoming!
"Damn..."
Feihren immediately stood up from the bed and stubbed one of his toes on the corner post of the bunk. He limped around while walking it off and hurriedly freshening up as he fast as he can.
Opening up the door of the king's personal chamber, a dark iron maiden greeted her.
"Good morning Your Majesty, It's good to see that you have finally rested and are full of energy."
The cheerful voice of Lucy that suddenly attended him startled Feihren as he backed off a few steps from surprise.
"Ah! Yes yes, but it's not really morning anymore... We need to go to the First Sector right now."
"Do not get flustered, Your Highness. A report came earlier this morning stating that the enemy halted a few kilometers away from the western valley. They have not yet dared approach the First Sector. It seems that it has something to do with them now clearly seeing that the place in no longer defenseless." Lucy calmed Feihren's rush as she continued.
"But it would be better for your presence to be there, Your Majesty. Would you like me to summon the Seraphim's Gate for you?"
"That would be really helpful. Thank you." Feihren replied as he equipped the Messiah's Robes.
...
"General, why did we halt the march? It had been hours already?" An imperial soldier inquired as they were wondering what was happening on the front lines.
"It seems that the western valley of the Wolfenstein Kingdom is now heavily guarded, and is being defended by what appears to be dwarven-made turrets..."
The Dwarven race is well known for being meticulous in their work as they take pride in their creations. This goes to show that anything within the line of being "dwarven-made" would actually signify quality. It seems that the Wolfenstein Kingdom is in cahoots with a few of the dwarven race.
"We are still confirming if said report is true. Until then, we need to halt and not do anything reckless... It would be better to make use of the Garudia Kingdom's soldiers as bait to drag out the enemy's strength as we deal the decisive blow. According to Duke Adrian, it would be best if could get these two kingdoms to weaken themselves, as we could take both easily..." The general muttered in a low voice as he instructed his troops to stand back for now.
A gigantic marble gate adorned with pearl-like runes appeared at the entrance of the west valley.
From within the majestic gate appeared an ominous dark knight with lustrous golden hair carrying a gigantic bulwark in her left hand and a mystical-looking white sword in the other. Lucy's sudden appearance had made the entire area's aura seem dismal in comparison to her radiance.
Even the Wolfenstein Army had stood cautiously at the sudden appearance of the unknown figure. Lucy immediately dismissed the misunderstanding as she said with a gentle voice, "I am an ally. Your King will be here soon."
Another figure suddenly came out of the gate. A tall man with a gallant stature appeared. He was wearing a majestic robe plated with silver armored parts. The peerless aura that the man exudes could only be compared to the highest order of men.
The arrival of Feihren made the soldiers of the Wolfenstein Army exclaim in happiness as they bowed in unison to their king. The gate then disappeared into thin air as the army of the Wolfenstein Kingdom could be seen kowtowing to the unknown figure that has arrived.
"It seems that the enemy king has appeared." Adrian smiled as he inspected the figure of Feihren from a distance, "Let's see what you really are made of. It seems that the young emperor has a lot of hidden respect for you... But as for me, you're nothing but a rookie with this whole 'kingdom business'!' He muttered to himself as he maliciously grinned.
"Heh... So the bastard Feihren has finally appeared." Louie smiled while he sat at the centermost part of the troops as he noticed the commotion on the frontlines... "It is my time to exact proper revenge unto you, my dear king."
The two kingdoms hadn't mobilized any of their troops as they were waiting for each other to make the first move. After a few minutes of this stalemate, the dark knight on the flanks of the Wolfenstein Kingdom burst forth towards the skies as she zipped up with a sonic boom.
Back-lighted by the horizon in the bright sky, the dark figure floated still as she slowly pointed her longsword towards the winged beasts over the enemy troops.
Her wings opened with grace as unknown power permeated from the radiance within each feather. Golden lights coiled over the pair of wings as an all-encompassing aura bathed the battlefield in a mysterious power.
Loud roaring and screeching came from the aerial troops of the Garudia Kingdom as their winged beasts seemingly went out of control as they flapped frantically, trying their best remove their riders their backs.
The 40,000 members of winged beast troops in the skies became riderless in mere minutes as the people from below desperately attempted to catch a few of those knight riders that were falling. Unfortunately, catching someone who was falling from that high covered in metal would be no easy task, and it could do more harm to the people below trying to help than doing nothing at all...
There was no helping the fact that a good number of knight riders immediately perished just from that single move of the unknown flying figure. The image of that dark knight in the skies was akin to a fallen angel that now commands an army of thousands of flying beasts.
Pointing the sword towards the people below, the beasts charged forth as Lucy signaled the beginning of a bloodbath.
