Chapter 31 - Attack of a Titan!

Feihren hurriedly went back inside the workshop after he 'tested' the new addition to his Demonic Carbine. He was utterly shocked at how the [Tri-horn Stallion Spitfire Scope] ended up working. Immediately switching the blueprints, Feihren decided to do a little tweaking here and there to either change or reduce the effect of the X-ray vision. It isn't because it was particularly bad. In a sense, it may be somewhat 'useful'. But it would definitely not be of much help in combat. Heck, it would throw anyone off if they could see all their enemies naked.

The updated scope came out with a different name. It was now labeled as the [Eyes of the Demonic Stallion Scope].

Finally, it's finished. Unfortunately it was now late in the evening. Feihren dismissed the thought of trying out the scope and immediately slept on the floor of the workshop. He was used to sleeping even in the most uncomfortable place, so he did not bother returning to his lodgings, where the rest of his party was. Besides, the first thing he was planning to do the next day should also be done in the workshop.

...

Feeling revitalized, Feihren woke up with an excited smile on his face.

One of the features of Gaia's Paradox was the choice to increase the durability and/or effectiveness of your weapons by [Smelting] lower grade items and improving the higher ones through [Refining].

It was a feature intended for items within Gaia's Paradox, but it seems that the ones in Nuwiell held the same tier and rarity scheme. The only real difference was that the items here were inferior based on their special effects at each tier in comparison with the types of equipment in the game. So it made sense that the items in this new world could be stored in the game inventory.

Logically, these items could also be used in [Smelting] and [Refining]. This was the reason why Feihren had bought massive amounts of low-grade items for the purpose of improving his custom weapons. He was hoping that he could get them to have improved or perfect durability.

...

Feihren went to the temporary lodgings of the 10-man party he brought with him. The carriage that they had brought with them ever since they left the Ranustin Kingdom was still there. Feihren then assembled them for a discussion.

"I'll be taking the carriage from you now. So your job in dealing with that is done. I'll be busy the entire morning in the workshop. But by the afternoon, I want you all to meet me near the entrance stairs of the mining pit. Were gonna have a team-building exercise."

'Team-building exercise?' Everyone in the party was doubtful about his true goal in getting them there, but none had voiced out their opinion at the moment.

"If there is nothing else, I'll be going now." Feihren immediately left after he had given his instructions. The party then prepared themselves for the upcoming 'team-building exercise'.

...

Under the scorching heat of the afternoon sun, Feihren's party had assembled at the staircase entrance to the mining pit. They arrived earlier than what was planned, but to their surprise, Feihren was already there with a disappointed look on his face.

Feihren had been successful in acquiring perfect durability for his custom-grade [Agile Angel Hand Cannon], which was his pistol of choice. It was proficient in packing ridiculous damage into a single round. But while this was technically a good thing, the problem was… he used up all of the 700+ lower tier items just to achieve this! It would take roughly 200,000 gold coins or around 2 precious gems for him to upgrade a single handgun.

He had no problem acquiring the gems due to him having the treasure trove of a mining pit, but trading too many of these gems would fluctuate their price, and would cause high suspicion from the trade market. Feihren did not want to cause any more trouble for the dwarves. If only he had a way to use his in-game currency…

[9,500,000 Platinum Tokens], Gaia's Paradox in-game currency. Feihren currently has a lot of it, almost maxed out even. The maximum number of the currency one player could obtain was 10 million, but before transmigrating to this new world, Feihren had spent half a million for 'The Eye' event.

He was still thinking about how he could use this currency, but that was not the point of him bringing these people into the mining pit. He was trying to solve one of the greatest problems he was facing in this world, his limited supply of ammunition.

The 10-man party approached Feihren, who was in a solemn mood, but their arrival suddenly brought a smile to Feihren's face. Seeing this, the party sighed in relief. 'It seems that he is fine'.

"Sir Feihren, you seem early? What are we doing during this 'Team-building Exercise'?"

"Ah yes, I was early because I had to ask for permission from the dwarven chief for me to have exclusive use of the entire mining pit for this afternoon. Now here's the task, you have to find all these things within the pit. I will be dividing you into 2 teams of 5. Find as much of the items listed as you can and meet me within the lodging quarters in the evening. Aside from this being a good way to improve teamwork, I'll be rewarding the winning team alright? Get started."

Feihren had instructed the party with complete details before he left. Naturally, these lists were items that are needed for the production of ammunition. This world does not have a clear name for things such as Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) and Sulfur, but the dwarves already had a crude formula for gun powder and a list of what these ingredients look like. Naturally, Feihren had only placed the description of these materials on the list so that it would be easier for the party to find.

Feihren then proceeded to head out of the town, towards the Wolfenstein Kingdom.

A loud buzzing sound zipped through the eastern woodlands as a mirage-like image of a floating board arrived where Coboro Village used to stand. It didn't even take an hour before Feihren reached his destination.

Feihren's plan was to scout out the entrance where they would begin their 'assault'. It seems that a few guards are now posted along the eastern walls, and the wall itself had increased in height! Because of his current vantage point, he could clearly see the crop fields from before were now huge encampments. The ground where the village used to stand was now an enormous building with a gigantic flag bearing the insignia of the Wolfenstein Kingdom.

"Huh, a military base? Well, they did put the place to good use as far as I can see."

Feihren began to ponder his next plan of action. The Wolfenstein kingdom having a stronghold instead of leaving the eastern district alone was outside Feihren's expectations. Although this did not fluster him, he was still hoping that his 'Grand Assault Plan' would be executed flawlessly.

"This stronghold... I can't take care of this myself, can I?" Feihren pondered to himself.

"Of course you can! You have me!" A reply that was a bit unexpected startled Feihren. He now remembered that he hadn't tested out the new scope he had added, or the new attachments effect on the carbine itself. A grin appeared on Feihren's face as he replied to the Ancient Demon Lord, "There's no harm in trying."

Aiming down through the newly attached scope, Feihren was startled by what he was seeing. An effect similar to the previous 'x-ray vision' was still there, but it did not make the enemy butt-naked. Instead, he could see the vitals of his enemies! Red glowing marks appeared on the 'weak spots' of these people as the flow of their life force could clearly be seen!

"I can clearly see their weaknesses? Is that what those red marks mean?" Feihren thought to himself as he checked the remaining general exp he has. It was roughly good enough for 3 shots. "Then I have to hit those with the highest level to earn enough general exp to fire some more..."

[Battlefield Scan]

Equipping the [Supreme General] class, Feihren had assessed that there were roughly 7 people on the high walls with an average tier of Expert or Master-class. Hiding in the thick woods closest to the walls, Feihren proceeded with his solo guerilla attack. Aiming down the barrel...

*Bang!

'Base HP: 4,100 (-4,900)'

[General Exp +4,500]

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,500 (-4,900)'

[General Exp +4,200]

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,700 (-5,000)'

[General Exp +4,300]

"Ah, it's really strong! And it seems the recoil is now fixed!"

Feihren did not even need to get near the opponent to claim the general experience. The people he shot disintegrated after the strong impact that pierced through them.

Three consecutive 'shots' were heard as three domineering people who were stationed on the walls fell to the floor dead, before totally disappearing into thin air! The guards that were on the high walls started to reveal panicked expressions. Although there was roughly a hundred meter gap between the stations of these three people, it looked like the three of them fell at the same time.

"Enemy attack, stay on your guard!" The four remaining formidable people on the wall squashed the panic and immediately took the initiative to stay on guard against this sudden attack.

"I have 23 more shots thanks to those people..." Feihren muttered as he proceeded to kill the remaining four who were commanding the wall. The soldiers were starting to mount up their siege defenses.

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,800 (-4,900)'

[General Exp +4,350]

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,300 (-4,900)'

[General Exp +4,050]

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,300 (-5,000)'

[General Exp +4,050]

*Bang!

'Base HP: 3,800 (-5,000)'

[General Exp +4,350]

"Hahahaha see? Haven't I told you human? Destroying this place is way too easy for us!"

Feihren had earned enough general exp now to continue firing the [Carbine of the Demonic Stallion] for quite some time. Unfortunately, aside from the few formidable people that were coming out of the main building of the stronghold, these people were all small fry in comparison to the strength of Feihren.

Summoning Samael, Feihren instructed him to breach the walls. The iron door did not seem to budge against the punches of Samael, but the brick walls were a different story. Switching to the walls, Samael started punching a hole through it as the entirety of the eastern wall started shaking.

Even though panic was evident with the sudden attack, only a singular figure could be seen sieging the wall. The people above gained confidence as they started mounting gigantic spears on their ballistas, aiming down on the red giant golem.

*Pew!

*Clank!

Samael did not even react to the wooden spear that basically shattered against its rock hard body. It did damage, but it was so minuscule that even Samael's low regeneration had beaten it!

Samael started taking damage as more of those wooden spears rained down at it, but it was all too late. A gigantic hole appeared as the part of the wall where Samael kept punching collapsed. Although this was the opportunity Feihren was waiting for, but the Wolfenstein soldiers took advantage of this as well, and they rushed through the hole that appeared. They relentlessly attacked the red golem without end. The archers aligned on the wall as they continuously fired arrows towards Samael.

'Okay that enough. Good job Samael!' Feihren consciously commanded Samael, as it turned back into a tiny red gem. The hundreds of soldiers that were surrounding Samael were dumbfounded at the sudden disappearance of the giant, but in the next moment, a loud buzzing sound was heard overhead.

A gigantic figure started descending towards them! A loud boom resounded through the eastern stronghold as the soldiers that were surrounding Samael were now nothing more than ground paste after being smashed by the sudden impact.

The soldiers that remained on the walls and outside the hole who did not die from the impact cried out loudly as they started to run in a panic! This was something that they wouldn't be able to handle! Most of the weaker soldiers took the initiative to escape. Feihren switched to 'Titan Arms' mode as he finished off the soldiers outside the walls.

He then proceeded to leap forward and smash an entire section of the wall, turning it into nothing but dust and rubble. The people on that section of the wall fell off and died. The remaining people who were worth the exp were finished off by the Demonic Carbine!

The soldiers within the stronghold were now starting to run away. Too bad they were running straight towards the capital of Wolfenstein... It made things too easy for Feihren.

The Demonic Carbine was no longer worth firing, as the people it would be slaying at this point did not give much general exp in comparison to how much was needed for a single shot.

"I'll be producing more bullets anyway, so might as well."

'Equip'>>>'[Hermes Assault Rogue Armor]'

'Equip'>>>'[Dionysus AK-9]'

Continuous loud noises resonated throughout the eastern stronghold of the Wolfenstein Kingdom. Loud cries started to dissipate into nothingness as the stronghold turned quieter after a few minutes...

Not a single strand of smoke could be seen rising from the stronghold. Nothing betrayed the battle except the portion of wall that collapsed. Deafening quietness was the only thing one could hear now, as the stench of blood was evident, but not a single body remained.
