Ominous power started condensing at a single point above the eastern stronghold wall.
The 10-man party could not help but look back so they could see what was happening, but what they saw made a chill run down their backs. Although Feihren had told them on what to initially do, he had only vaguely said to trust his first attack, and to defend themselves before the enemy can start to counterattack.
They had believed that Feihren was just trying to lure the enemies into positioning themselves badly, but they hadn't anticipated that his initial attack could pack such enormous power.
The laughing soldiers of the front-line troop instantly became silent after feeling the eerie aura that came from the enemy. Most of the people that hadn't noticed the appearance of the enemy up until now turned their gazes towards the floating black orb that was increasing in size.
Feihren's party braced themselves.
"I should shout something cool before releasing this right? Hmm 'Die!' ...?, 'Go!' ...?, 'Kamehameha!' ...? Eh, I'm too high up that nobody could hear me anyway so... Nevermind." Feihren was muttering to himself as he was excited to release the attack that has reached its peak.
The soldiers that were closest to the stronghold building did not even have enough time to panic as the gigantic black sphere descended upon them with great speed!
*KABOOOM!!!
An ear piercing sound reverberated throughout the area as the loud explosion covered every nook and cranny of the stronghold!
The noise caused by the explosion was so loud that every one of the remaining 200,000 soldiers had all directed their gazes towards the direction of where it came from. But within the next instant, the remaining soldiers outside the broken fence were thrown off of their feet from where they were standing as the sonic boom of the impact landed on them.
The loud pinging sound that only Feihren could hear repeatedly dinged inside his head before it went into an auto-updating pop-up notification with a vague display...
'System Log: Notifications (43,481)... (43,485)... (44,500)'
'System Log: Notifications (83,982)
The pinging finally stopped at a specific number, with the same numbers showing up not only on the general exp tab, but also on the new items tab. The pinging went crazy as a pop-up error prompt appeared in Feihren's face.
[Inventory Full!], Proceed to Auto [Smelting] excess lower grade items?
Feihren's attention was on the ongoing battle so he attempted to press the close button, but to no avail. The error prompt would not disappear. It seems it was not something Feihren could easily ignore, as it was basically something that defies the 'game mechanics'.
"I had no idea that the sudden extreme amount of drops in one go would trigger such a feature. Well, it might have been in the game, but I have never tried killing 80 thousand people in one go..."
'Congratulations on acquiring [Smelt Dust]'
Within the item inventory appeared an item that consumed a single slot, with an indicated number below it. It was something akin to a [Quest Drop] or other [Consumables] that would stack in his storage so as not to cramp up the entirety of the Inventory. Feihren was pleased with this side development as he regained his focus and attempted to fire in WMD mode again.
Aiming down the barrel, Feihren stopped his plan as he noticed a huge crack in the side of the rifle's body. Within the crack was the slight emission of both dark and green lights that were contradicting each other... The Ancient Demon Lord was weirdly silent, even with all this commotion that was going on. He definitely would have expected the Ancient Demon Lord to be ecstatic with all the slaughtering that was going on but...
"Eh? You're trying to escape huh..."
The Ancient Demon Lord did not utter a single "word" as the black glow within the carbine intensified and started radiating a stronger pressure as it attempted to break free.
"...And here I thought that you're enjoying your adventures with me. tsk tsk. I'm disappointed."
Switching the node back to semi-automatic, the war of light from within the Demonic Carbine had stopped, and all that remained was the evident physical crack in its body. Feihren placed the [Carbine of the Demonic Stallion] in his Inventory muttering. "I'll deal with you later..."
...
Panic permeated the area as the inside of the stronghold was now decorated with a gigantic crater in the middle.
The people on Feihren's party could not help but stare with stupefied expressions at all the things that had unfolded. Cracks were evident on the magic barrier they had produced to protect themselves from the enemy, but in actuality, Feihren had probably commanded them to build it up to protect themselves from his destructive recoil. The party sighed in relief as they braced themselves once more.
Sure enough, that initial attack had dealt a devastating blow against the enemy, but the battle was far from over. There were still a hundred thousand enemies waiting for them, they could not afford to let their guard down.
But it had been almost 2 minutes since Feihren's attack and not a single approaching footstep was heard. Instead, galloping horses and fleeing footsteps going opposite their direction was what they could feel. Sure enough, Feihren clarified their suspicion.
"Most of them are already fleeing, Give chase." Feihren coldly commanded to the 6 armed knights on his party.
"Magi Zeph, if it's possible, could you enchant some kind of barrier that would trap them in this place? Even just a small amount of time would be sufficient." Feihren continued his instructions with the remaining mages.
One of the Bainzen Empire mages replied. "We four could combine our spells to perform one big spell formation that would be enough to resist for a while. But I am not confident that it will last longer than 5 minutes. After all, the opposition also has formidable spellcasters."
"Do it, I'll be counting on you," Feihren replied. As the helm of the Titan armor closed, the buzzing sound of the Titan Slate echoed before a sonic boom was heard as he headed towards the fleeing enemy.
It did not take long before Feihren had overtaken the other 6 knights who were still attempting to charge into melee range. Within Feihren's vision, it was roughly a kilometer and a half before he could reach the flank of the fleeing enemies.
"...Perfect, exactly where I wanted you to be" A quiet voice spoke within the void.
A gigantic obsidian rock in the shape of a spear suddenly appeared from the horizon as it sped towards Feihren.
Feihren's instinct had immediately warned him of the upcoming danger as he looked up at the sky. He immediately switched from 'Titan Slate' mode into the 'Titan Arms' as the mechanical body armor started growing in size.
*Screeeee!
Loud scraping was heard as the gigantic spear rock slightly pierced the metallic armor of his arms. It ultimately did no damage, but almost instantly afterwards the ground rippled below Feihren's feet as a similar looking spear protruded from within, piercing straight through Feihren.
"Base HP: 9,100 (-1,200)"
'Argh, that took too much HP'... Feihren spat up a mouthful of blood as the spear pierced the mechanical armor from below, injuring the entirety of his left side that was still within it.
A floating silhouette of a cloaked man appeared in front of Feihren, who was still unable to move.
Feihren glared coldly at the unknown entity in front of him. He immediately attempted to scan the person before him and...
"Dark arts eh? No wonder you're still alive, old man Louie..." Feihren retorted jokingly, although he was in a rather bloody situation.
King Louie furrowed his brow as he was taken aback by how this person was able to figure out who he was...
